It seems Liam isn't too popular with the CT posters - on the news he is training lightly David Montgomery makes this comment:

"Well now we're are beginning to see that this new squad of players are not all they are meant to be. Expect a few to be sidelined or used sparingly due to the fact that they probably come with a catalogue of injuries.
Sisu would not be able to compete with other clubs when it comes to signing fit players. These are all off the 'seconds' shelf and again we are left to pick up the players no one else really want.
Not been too impressed with what's happened in pre season friendlies yet. It's up to you Robins to make sure you get right but I think this squad has been put together on a shoestring"

Shoestring is right and not one of the new players makes me want to rush up to watch them (hope I'm proved wrong). We are still short of goals and cover for L B with the injury prone players we have.

In all fairness with our crowds and income as low as they are how do you expect us to sign marquee players.

The players we've signed are good for this level.

I would rather he trains lightly and build up to it rather than going mad and getting injured.

Our crowds if we cannot compete on gates in division 2 we might as well forget it. Even with the expected drop in gates we will still be at the top end of attendances that is without the boost of the Wembley money.

we all know it's a team built on a shoe string. it's what Sisu are good at. got to hope that MR can manage the crap as well as he did with the crap end of last season. If MR fails, we're up shit street. Down to you Mark.

Were supposed to be self sufficient if so we should be able to compete in this division (Sisu do) well about time we had a change 2 divisions later. Stokes may have played most of his games at L B but I think he lacks to pace and will get caught out said my piece on Haynes.

You remind me of my Dad - regurgitating bullshit he's read elsewhere and thinking he's formed an opinion. Stokes lacking pace is a myth. He's not the quickest but he's still a very good LB, especially at L2 level. Very very few wingers are going to catch him out at this level.

Amazes me how negative the CT comments are even at this early stage.

If we'd signed some Stephen Jennings and James Bailey equivalents, they would have been pointing and saying "why hasn't Robins signed players with experience of promotion at L2 level, you know, tough players like Doyle!"

They haven't kicked a ball in anger yet and already people are complaining.

Can't wait for Sat 5th now!

Fuck me...do people seriously expect a L2 club to build a squad with vast amounts of money?!

Some people are seriously idiotic. The majority (if not all) L2 squads will be built on shoestring budgets.

Some people moan for the sake of fucking moaning. Does my head in.

A lot of it seems to come down to not really having a clue or thinking we are still in the Premier League.

We could sign Cristiano Ronaldo and the CT comments would still have those idiots slamming it as a poor signing.

They're either trolls or genuinely are too thick to string a sentence together other than "SISU OUT" or "Not a Penny More"

And we signed Slager and some fans were gushing with false expectation!

I probably am old enough your dad I do form my own opinion but from what I see not what I read I saw Stokes ever home game last season and stick by what I said. I did not say he's not a good L B as for being older may just have seen a few more L B than yourself but I hoped to be proved wrong this time.

Yeah the CT poster is talking balls. It's good to have a moan when required but i think most of us would agree that for the first time in several pre-seasons (probably since the false dawn of when we re-signed Carsley and McSheff) there is genuine cause for optimism. 9 mostly experiened players in already with the likes of Pearson, Moorehouse and Miles also yet to join. A mate of mine texted me to moan that discussions of our new signings was like watching paint dry....guess what, he goes to one game per season and last time he just did Wembley and no other games. People know jack shit sometimes. Last season we had barely anyone and it was a mess. This time we seem prepared for the first time in years....bring it on!!!

P.s. my take on the LB situation is that Camwell will only be used as emergency backup and stay with thr development lads. Stokes may convert into being a CB. Haynes likely to be backup LB. So that's two only, not four.
