I tell you what. If you get within 10,000 of that, I'll buy everyone on this board a pint.

My sauce tells me that we will, it would be 32,609, but Fred from Canley can't be arsed.

What about the city fans who sang "city till I die" in April but now won't go because it's League 2?

what about them?

no one is saying like these fans, but to say i prefer cov in lower leagues and just hardcore fans at games over cov successfull with fairweather fans is crazy!

checkatrade in april is a great example, everyone realised what a brilliant day it was, fairweather fans did not ruin it. we need more days like that not less

Can't remember an Aardvarrk one being too bad, Lager at the Ricoh though is like it's been through a Soda Stream 100 times with way too much gas.

I had one in Sheffield on Sunday at the Rangers game, that was pretty poor as well, albeit no on par with the RA.

Tudor Rose (?) abysmal. Once had the misfortune to have a drink in that disgusting hotel bar near the swimming pool. Happy hour was an oxymoron.

You don't go to the Tudor Rose for the beer, you go to laugh at OAPS with no teeth grinding up romanian men who have been dragged backwards through Sports Direct.

I would guess at around 7500 might be a bit more as it is first game of the season

I hope the club have got their budgets right because the lower down the leagues you go the bigger the effect of small variances. If they are budgeting say on 9000 average crowds and don't get off to a good start they are immediately under financial pressure. Only two teams (Pompey & Plymouth) topped 9000 last season and most teams will only bring small numbers of travelling fans with them.

If they have sold say 4000 ST's that's a big gap to make up on a matchday to average 9000. That gap only gets bigger the more below average expected attendances they have

A lot rests on getting off to a good start, then maintaining it. Fingers & toes crossed they do ! We have to have some league success one season surely don't we ????

League Two 2016/2017 - Attendance click on the average away attendances each team is involved in ..........

To be at or close to 9000 we will have to be around the playoff positions at the very least,
Mid table or worse would see us getting 5-6000 as pay on gate would be of no interest at
All at current prices.

County sold 1k and have an extra 500 on sale now. I wouldn't be surprised if Most teams bring at least 1500 - 2000 to us. We will be biggest name most have played for a long time. Couple that with a successful season..we may have an atmosphere at the Ricoh this season

...I doubt most teams in this league will be able to muster over 1000 travelling fans.

Yeah, I’ve been trying to buy tickets for Saturday but they’re not showing on the website.

Rang up Ticketmaster, and was told the club had removed them, since she couldn’t access them on her system either. The poor misguided girl even ventured to suggest in all sincerity that it might be sold out.

She’d had to disappoint other callers too apparently, and was giving out a number to call the club tomorrow. What is it with CCFC?

I don't know what it is, but they never seem as though they want to maximise attendances.

You are having a laugh. Read Oldskyblue58 post above and you will see the variance.
We need at least 8500 home fans to break even and that will only be achieved by in the play offs.

How very odd. A colleague at work wants to go as a one off - ordered a ticket online today and printed it off. Said the website was great compared to others.

Glad it's not just me then, couldn't find the game anywhere on the site
Grendel, why would they take the time to come on here and tell lies.

lets be honest anything less than 17-18k is shit in that stadium and 10k is awful. Once under that largely academic in terms of atmosphere whether it's 4K or 8k

I predict around 8k for the first game; we've had a decent pre season, made some good signings (on paper), MR is trusted amongst fans and it's the first game of the season.

As everyone has said, if results go wrong early on, attendance will drop dramatically.

Away fans will support that a little, as the Ricoh will be the best stadium many of them have been to and in some cases potentially ever will. Although the benefit is taken away somewhat by the fact L2 teams generally have smaller fan bases.

Either way I'm excited, I hope I feel the same at 5 on Saturday.

mowbray season - they had 1 price tier, and everybody was seated close together
This improved the atmosphere

as soon as they brought back cheap and dear seats, people were dispersed again

8,000 would be good. That's in the grand scheme of things of course. Looking back upon our slippery slope though it just confirms our demise over the last few seasons.

Only thing that can give us decent attendances now is success on the pitch and prolonged success at that. Win 5 or 6 in a row and be in the top 2, I think we could then get crowds of 11,000 perhaps. Keep that up all season and maybe we can get 14,000-15,000 for a top 2 game, 6 pointer, or a decent cup game.
