I've not. But walk past it most days to grab a sandwich and it's always busy at lunch times. Eaten at Noodlebar a few times and that is always busy, queued to get in there at midday as it opened!

Only the crossings either by Tesco or further down the road. You can get into the back of the other retail park by walking by the side of the river along Tesco's car park and turn right across a foot bridge over the river. It takes you up the side of the cinema straight to B& M. Probably could do with something more direct though.

I used to see them getting into their brand news Audi's, BMW's and Mercs most days though!

Didn't know if there was a bridge or tunnel to link them both together, would be ideal. Would probably just drive over not knowing the way.

I moved away from Cov over 10 years ago, the city centre is in a far better state now than it was then. The new student developments, are making it feel more lively and less of a backwater. Hopefully the City Centre South scheme comes to fruition.

The walk from the station into town is much improved and really quite pleasant.

One of them that lives in the flats at the back of the registry office drives around in a brand new Nissan GTR... they bring in a ridiculous amount of money to the Uni in their fees.

I used to go to Manchester every week for work around 15 years back and although a little run down in places the people were nice and the atmosphere was pleasant. I went back last year for the first time in a decade and the atmosphere had totally changed, I half expected to be stabbed every time I walked around a corner. Shame, I really used to enjoy it.

For all the stabbings and shootings that occur around the Nottingham area I've got to say that's my favourite city destination in the UK, the city centre is fantastic.

If you go to Bicester you see them all there as well, there was one just throwing in designer shoes at 700 - 800 a pop into a basket like it was me in the pound shop with sweets.

Yes, it's endemic. I've seen people passed out on the streets a few times. People screaming. Spice causes people to vomit as well so you often see big piles of sick around in the middle of the day.

Presume you stayed near Piccadilly? The walk from Piccadilly station to the Piccadilly Gardens is dreadful, full of spice boys and girls.

The restaurants and bars I don't think are geared towards students (Wagamama etc aren't exactly cheap). Even if they were, things are geared towards students because that's where the demand is. Coventry people abandoned the city centre so aren't really demonstrating demand for anyting else.

Seen one following a spice addict in Manchester. The only good thing you could say about it was it cured him of his heroin addiction. Until he made the point it was worse than heroin as at least there was help with heroin addiction such as the methadone program. Nothing to substitute spice with. He threw up almost everytime he used it and started using while in prison as a heroin substitute.

A mate of mine was at work (a fairly large employer in the midlands, shan't say where though) and he recons that a group of lads who were using it socially decided that it was a good idea to bring some into work in cake form for their dinner break. Seems that they overdid the dosage and all started throwing up around the canteen and some started going mental smashing the place up. Several ambulances later they were all carted of to hospital. Presumably unemployed.

Shocking stuff, genuinely thought someone was going to have a pop.

I put my earphones in (no sound on) so it was easier to ignore them without getting into conversation and I could hear any approaching from behind as I did think "I'm going to get jumped here!"

They feature on student beans as does las iguanas whose target market are "pre family" young diners. Wagamama is classic student dining. It's mission statement describes it.

Even the headline prices are cheap.

I don't know why people think students live like the young ones. Accommodation alone is around £5 grand a year.

Even at 25% off it's still a little expensive for students to be eating there regularly.

When Five Guys comes I think that will prove to be popular with students.

I am not that keen myself. I liked their fries, but the burger I had was very, very bland.

think it all depends on their background. There are plenty in Cov who don't have to worry about being able to afford to eat at Wagamamas.

Homelessness is the biggest issue I'm seeing, a few weeks ago I went into town centre early one Sunday before shops opened and the number of homeless sleeping in shop doorways was shocking, there must have been a dozen I noticed and I guess more in corners I never passed. There is no doubt this problem has worsened in the last few years and my memory of the early 70's is that all the homeless you saw were older tramps in their 50's or 60's nowadays you see mostly relatively young people in their 20's & 30's. I do not think this can be blamed on so called 'austerity' as no doubt numerous leftard posters will soon assert, I believe it is mostly down to changes in the structure of society and the growth of drug use.
