Had anyone had the most unfortunate experience of coming across this new Noel Edmunds concoction?

All I can say is WTF!!

It's a cross between a low budget quiz show and the very worst sitcom of all time. It's a quiz show set in a hardware store and there are 'characters' in the store.

It just came on after Countdown and I am just sitting here with mouth agape.

Absolutely dreadful.

Game show, but set in a fictional hardware shop called Noel's Store and there are actual characters in it, like a sales assistant behind the till etc.

Lots of supposed asides and punchlines from the characters but it doesn't even begin to be funny on any level.

Randomly he started to follow me on Twitter a couple of years ago on the day he set up his account. Found it a bit odd as at the time I was the only one he was following and I'd never spoke to or met the guy. Had some DM convos with him. Some of them were a bit bizarre but mostly normal stuff. One day half way through a convo he sent me his contact details as he had to suddenly close down his account. Found him to be quite a nice chap. Wears leather trousers though!

That sounds a bit strange.

Are you sure it wasn't your mates pranking you?

The "Hi xxxx, it's yyyyy. We met on Saturday and you gave me your number" has worked a couple of times whenever somebody gets a new number.

Had one walk into the pub, asked a group of us who arranged to meet him as "her" if we had seen any fit girls and then gone home still not realising and was gutted that she stood him up and kept texting her. Which was really my mate, felt bad in the end though and told him.

There was an article in the Guardian about it. Conclusion was it is embarrassing shite.

The Times slated it as well. Edmonds believes it's great though and his huge ego will convince him he is correct and everyone else is wrong.

That's random. What did he talk to you about? ha

General day to day stuff. It was sometimes after I mentioned a story in the news. I was thinking that maybe it was because I reminded him of his best mate but I've seen others say he randomly started talking to them too.

As they say on the Lotto, "Please not him" :emoji_weary:

To say it is incredibly dire does it an injustice. It is just so shockingly bad.

One of the 'jokes' today was the sales assistant coming in and making a fuss to Noel about someone parking their limo outside and them being a poser and asking whose the hell's it it?,' Cue Edmunds piping up 'Ooh, I had better move it then.'

Oh what hilarity. The guy then comes back after the commercial break and points to a key and asks 'Is this for the helicopter?'

And that's supposed to be funny. :(

Wish I had never even come across it. It's going to take many showers to wash away its stench.

The Noel Edmund's twitter thing reminds of when Sleaford Mods followed me. I told my mate and he said they're crap but I felt chuffed to be honest !
