On the gate ticket prices (1 Viewer)

Lets look at League 1 2015/16. Was going pretty well for a while, didn't drop out of the top 6 until March and prices were lower than you suggest:

All tickets: early bird ST £10.83 , after early bird £13.
Match packages: 12 game £13 6 games £13
Pre-paid tickets £18, on day tickets £20, concessions £13 adv £15 gate.
Juniors £6, JSB over 12 £4, JSB under 12 free.

Better atmosphere - debatable
Better revenue - revenues decreased
Better future - we got relegated the next season

Apart from games with large away followings the attendances stayed around 11K. This season after being relegated and price increases we've got over 10K for the first game and over 8K today. I don't see the basis for lower prices increasing crowds and revenues.
Doesn't tell the whole story though does it, didn't fall out of the top six until March 'but were
In free fall from January, crowds did get as high as more than 17.000.
There's a lot of horrible history to be overcome and a lot of hearts and minds to be won back,
If that season had carried on as it began we could have easily ended up with an average in
The region of 15-17000.
Also these things need to be given time to flourish, this can only happen if we are competitive
On the pitch in which ever league we happen to be in, that is essential.
And people need to be able to just walk up and POG, those big games that season were all
Ticket and sold seat by seat 'block by block. people need to be able to rock up on the day
Safe in the knowledge they will get in before K/O, and get in for £20.
Something has to be done Dave 'and Quickly" because otherwise this old club is going to
Stagnant and eventually die.

By in advance its cheaper, get a jsb for the 13 year old and he is free.
Without sounding harsh It's not hard to work out, for you and your lad you have spent 76 quid in 2 games, you could have got 2 season tickets ( 1 adult and a jsb membership inc) for 320 quid for the season all in, after 6 games it's a free season.

Put like that it seems a no brainer and good advice.
But what some people have to realise is for some families the 320 quid is a difficult outlay in one go. From my own experience, often having had jobs where you get one Saturday off in four is pretty restrictive; and those sort of jobs are pretty common and employ a lot of people in this city and the surrounding area. This season at the age of 56 (retired) is the first season since I was 18 that I have every Saturday off.

There are a lot of floating fan base out there who go when they can. It can be hard when it is not a routine thing and your one Saturday in four can be pretty precious.

First thing is how the hell are you retired already at 56? Must have been there 30 odd years and had it at 55-fair play :emoji_thumbsup:.
In reality £24 for a division 4 game IS too much to pay on the day and I think we all except that and although I myself can afford it, the overall match day experience and quality of football cannot justify paying that price and yesterday was a classic example of that. But on the other side of the coin if we are successful this season and come the last home game of the season against Morcombe, there will be 20,000 that will quite happily pay £24.

"We need revenue coming "in Mr Fisher words (by the way where is he) and yet we have loads of empty seats potential revenue not being used stop charging more on match days ,going to upset the Nick's on this thread who will say comparing these items are different planes with plenty of seats are filled at a cheaper rate , shops who overstock sell it cheaper(that or throw it away) .A large supermarket by us gives any left to charity's . Why don't the club even go and give some FREE family tickets to food banks in the area to help people struggling when they get sorted with there problems they might just become customers and it sure as hell ain't going to hurt the club as that large supermarket says (ever little helps)

People point it out because there are complaints about pricing when there are cheaper ways to buy. Instead of paying £51 on the gate he could have paid £37 in advance. This isn't unusual, most things are more if you want to pitch up and pay on the gate as that creates extra costs.

Problem is we don't own the ground so if we want to open the North Stand the costs go up. Its unlikely that would generate enough extra sales to cover the cost so overall we lose out.
I'd quite happily have the whole ground open at £10 a ticket if it would fill it but in our situation it doesn't work. All the extra non-ticket revenue generated goes to Wasps and we get hit with higher costs.
Your right it does create extra cost e.g. One turnstile operator equals less than one adult entrance fee

If the results start to dip at home then they need to start introducing offers quickly to get some numbers into the Ricoh. In all the years of my ST's I didn't give a monkeys if the club made offers to attract more supporters, I bought my ST because I wanted to go every week and sit In the same seat next to my mates, not particularly for financial savings.

Ridiculous isn't it, a few extra stewards, perhaps one extra food/beer kiosk and a little
Added to the cleaning bill, just let everyone know they can turn up on the day and get
In for £20.

I think £20 on the day might attract the odd floating fan, but probably not in sufficient numbers to make up the shortfall in income from the reduction.
That said, I think it should be 20 quid. Nice and straight forward.

For sure, that £6/7 each extra makes quite a difference in a snap decision to say a couple or just a couple of mates !

I agree , I have a season ticket for the convenience and for the priority of away games and cup tickets !!!
