Didn’t survive though did it? I forget how it died TBH.
I forget so many things in Game of Thrones. I didn't know the Hound and the Mountain were brothers until this season. :(

Has anyone read the books? Just finished my second read-through. It's essentially a completely different story to the TV shows after book 2/3.

Halfway through A Feast Of Crows. Finding it really tough reading at times, but yeah I've seen a noticeable difference in the plot lines in this book compared to what has been on tv.

I found FFC and the first book of DOD the hardest to read... seems to be a lot of words with not a lot really going on.

Yeah, I've generally found it harder to follow than most other fantasy fiction books I've read. I think it's because each chapter (especially in the later books) jumps to a different character/setting/storyline and it can be 100-150 pages before you catch up with them again. I constantly found myself having to backtrack before starting a new chapter.

Personally I think George RR Martin has hit a brick wall as well. Too much waffling in books 1-5 and now he has two more books to wrap up EVERYTHING. I very much doubt he'll ever finish the series and I think he knows it, hence the constant delay in releasing the next book.

Death and destruction I think you'll find.

See here's the thing.... I don't think it's that simple.... I actually wonder if the White Walkers are not the 'bad guys' in his book story at least.

I've never watched a single episode. But so many people rave about it. I feel like I've missed out on something.
What is so good about it?

Intrigue, power struggles, brilliant baddies, epic battles, thrills, fantastic characters and some great acting.

It basically has everything, so would appeal to a dungeon and dragon type, but then also to those who like adventure and mystery.

Can be funny too.

I'm going to binge watch the back series over the next few weeks if life/wife doesn't interfere too much. Really looking forward to the finale. I'm an avid reader, but having watched the TV version can't bring myself to read the books, partly because of the posts on here and partly because the 'differences' in plot will annoy me!

I've never actually seen Game of Thrones, but having seen a few trailors, I'd expect some of these positions to be quite interesting.
