When have i ever said im ok with homophobic chanting ?
And calling someone an "utter weapon"
On a thread about causing offence, really?
Im tempted to point out the irony, but i doubt you would get it.
Mate you probably think Irony is something a bit like iron.

You derped on about people being "PC", don't wriggle out of this Nigel

I doubt the goalie was deeply traumatised by the immature ribbing, it's not exactly a case of vicious, vindictive homophobic targeting is it?

Chalk it up to a few who are a day late and a brain short, the same lot who have to keep score on their fingers.

If the keeper is not homosexual, then it's not "hate speech" or discriminatory behaviour. It's like calling your mate a "gayboy" for jumping a puddle, or something.
If there eerie any homosexual men among the supporters them damn right it's a big issue, it's pathetic and should never happen

Good grief it's a good job some of these sensitive types didn't exist in the 70's and 80's ! Oh the outrage !

As a straight white man the 70s and 80s would have been easy street, just like all the days before and since. Not exactly the good old days for everyone though.

Well I never quite said it was all ok did I but I suggest you all check your BMI as well in case that old favourite arises too somewhere.

Thing is, Ash, in the 70's it was okay to say nig nog and coon and Paki and to poke fun at poofs and use women as sex objects.

Times have indeed changed.
A lot of women loved being seen as sex objects ! They were as rough as the blokes chanting the comments !

If it was directed specifically at homosexuals, and it was discriminatory or hateful, then yes.

This was a gaggle of idiots calling a goalkeeper gay because of his pink jersey.

This was not homophobia, it was very childish humour.

You forgot making homosexuality illegal and giving women low paid jobs and while we're at it, why not go back to the sound notion of 'No blacks, no dogs, no Irish.'

Which is why I cannot understand these progressive types being so pro when it comes to importing Islam. It literally stands for everything backwards.

I'm not sure if any 'progressives' are actively importing Islam. It's nearly as far fetched as your prediction of the UK being under Sharia Law within 50-100 years.

FA covers up 'Super White Army' banner

The FA covered up Tranmere Rovers' 'super white army' banner after it being highlighted by England players on social media when they played at Prenton Park.

Is it racist to wear a white kit?

You couldn't make this stuff up.

No it’s clearly not, this is a rare, ridiculous outlier and that’s why it’s on the BBC and all over social media.

You aren’t alone shouting into the madness, it’s just in the endless stream of decisions being made there’s occasionally a stupid one. And those are the ones making it into the news.

Maybe he’s mixed up progressive support for the single market and tolerance of religion?

It will be in parts. Want to bet on that?

Also, define actively. The whole refugees welcome debacle paired with 'anyone that disagrees with me is racist' is doing a pretty good job.

In 50 years time I will 82. If we are still arguing on here I'd be a little concerned. How is having empathy for refugees actively importing Islam?

You'll also owe me some money.

There's empathy, and there's naivety. Your form is the latter. I really shouldn't need to explain the rest...

Slightly off topic, talking about what the fans sing and chant, what is everyone's opinion of our support home and away nowadays?

Let me know if you think we can improve the support in a certain way and I'll try to filter it to the vocal supporters so they have an idea of what it would take for other fans to join and enjoy.
Home support and singing is just plain garbage. Tell them to turf that drum in the canal aswell. 20 or 30 people joining in with the silly songs followed by the banging of the drum does not create an atmosphere.
On a better note the away support is ok.:emoji_clap:

I actually think our home support is OK when compared to others, (you probably go to more away games than me so would have a better idea), but most homes supports I encounter on my travels seem very quiet.

True, the away support at any ground I would say sing more than the home. Main point was was the drum though.:emoji_thumbsdown:

Everyone I seen last Saturday was laughing there heads off when the song went up. I bet 1,100 out of the 1,200 were in stitches. Is that a reflection of the away fan base or the society we live in?

For what take on it from what I witnessed it wasn't to be taken seriously at all and it's being looked into far to deeply. I know a gay guy and I know for a fact he would of joined in with the song!

The world has gone PC mad.

Yes things had to change. But as usual they changed too much. You can't tell a joke about anyone who is seen as minority in any way. But you can still tell a joke about white English.

No such thing as a blackboard now. But it is a board and is black. White board is OK though.

Baa baa black sheep is baaaaared in most schools. Baa baa white sheep is OK though.

It used to be OK anywhere to say merry Christmas. But now seasons greetings is the term. It is bloody christmas. Many non christians now celebrate Christmas. They don't see any problem with the word. But Diwali is allowed

Yes insulting words and comments shouldn't be allowed. But taking it too far is a joke.

Only 94 days until we can say seasons greetings :shifty:

AND IT DOESN'T EVEN SAY BLOODY EASTER ON EASTER EGGS ANYMORE! BLOODY CADBURYS AND THEIR HALAL FRIENDLY CHOCOLATE! YOU CAN'T EVEN FLY YOUR SAINT GEORGE'S FLAG WITH PRIDE ANYMORE COS THE POLICE WILL BE ROUND TO CALL YOU A BLOODY RACIALIST! Of course that's the sort of hyperbolic horse shit you read on Facebook from your mad uncle. I don't understand white man paranoia, we have had it all our own way throughout history. I have been drawn into a non football post now. Darn it. Back to work.

Have to disagree on the Merry Christmas comment. Everyone I know and come into contact with say Merry Christmas. All faiths, colours, denominartions. I say it to people and they all say it back. Since when have we listened to Whitehall guidance? ;)
