It prevents the George Thomas situation, potentially 5 years is a decent amount of time for him to mark his mark as a first team striker and then see what his options are then.

That’s what I thought. Don’t put him in the shop window knowing you wouldn’t be able to keep hold of him if he plays well.

Why? its a payrise, it offers a wage for the next 5 years or a hefty pay off, (potential bonus payments) knowing full well, if he starts scoring he will be sold anyway.

We'll be back in the Championship then though so I'm sure he'll sign an extension too.
