this Says it all for me.

Think we have to face the fact that we don't have the support for a top level club. Admittedly the product is poor at the moment; but it's chicken and egg. If no-one wants your product; do you spend a fortune revamping, or do you rely on the base that you have? The Council have always been...

this Says it all for me.

Obviously wasp's ownership of the Ricoh is bad for City. But just to play devil's advocate; in sisu's position, would you buy a 32k stadium when you can only rely on 8000 people turning up week in week out? Still not sure what their long term exit strategy is though?

With hindsight, the sky is also blue.

RFU Will Rubber Stamp Wasps Move According To The Times

The Council will not sell the ground to Otium, that much is clear. I know I'm reheating someone else's theory, but I do wonder if this move is just a way around that policy? Wasps could play here for a couple of seasons, then sell the Ricoh on (presumably at a profit) and SISU finally get...

    7k

I have no interest in phone ins, Coventry City, or this forum; unless the following conditions are met: 1) Coventry return from sixfields. 2) SISU guarantee we win every match at least 4.0, whilst also playing entertaining football. 3) Ticket prices are set at a maximum of half of less than...

    Peter Ndlovu

My hero growing up, lacked consistency, but scored some great goals. To be honest though, I think the league was much weaker back in the 90's. By today's standards, I'm not sure he'd stand out so much, probably a squad player for a lower prem team. I'd still have him in the Cov side though.

    Why we are struggling....

I'm not responding to this thread in paticular; just the general consensus on the board. A month ago, we'd have killed to be playing in Cov again. Now we want to play in Cov, have a new GK, new strikers and potentially a new manager?

    Why we are struggling....

We've had a couple of bad games. Reda'll be back soon, the captain's influence'll make a huge difference. I think we're over-reacting. There was a theory last season; that good performances at sixfields were down to a smaller, but less negative fan base. I never believed it, but begin to worry...

    Thorn

Under the circumstances, Thorn has done the best he could. He's got his failings, but ultimately his squad is shit. Compared to the budgets that previously experience managers were given, who successively seemed to achieve 17th place, I'm not sure he's done a bad job. Whether he's the man to...

    Cov v Lions matchday thread

Without wanting to sound delusional, we're not mathematically down yet. It would have to be the greatest of all escapes though!

    The Believers movement.

Going to bed, but predict a 1.3 victory against Burnley. Will stake my left ear on it. Willing to receive any reciprocal bets.

Not used to the media covering cov, lost for words. Sure-fire survival follows?

Since relagation name 3 players who have really played for the shirt?

Think we could name 11 players with the passion for premiershi football this saturday. Unfortunately with exeption of the loanees and a few of our youngsters, they'll probably never reach that level. Our aim has to be having 11 players, playing at 100% of their ability in a fashion that will...

    The Believers movement.

Agreed, this is the last chance saloon! My fondest memory of city is an away win against spurs on the last day of the season, that kept us in the premiership against all odds. I think williams scored the winner though I may be wrong. We can do it again!

The question is the squad good enough

Fact is we have a thread bare squad wh performed well below expectations for the first half of the season. that's probably due to a combination of managerial mistakes and lack of quality, due to lack of investment. Since January they've performed well above expectations, without investment...

Why i think league one will be good for us.

You can string a sentence together. Help me persuade the rest of our supporters that we can beat Burnley. Put your powers to good use.

Why i think league one will be good for us.

I completely agree, you seem to be arguing with me when I'm making the same point. We cannot afford to go down, we have no investment or significant assets. Join my "believers" thread, I need all the help I can get!

Why i think league one will be good for us.

Completely agree. My original point, intended to be made in other posts, if not expressed as eloquently as you've just put it is: We.ve slashed our costs this season and are still in with a reasonable chance of survival. admittedly, the weekends results make our chances look bleak. But at...

Why i think league one will be good for us.

Fair point, but we had money to waste on players to get us up, which we did. Remember 5 mill for Lee Hughes? We've got nothing this time.

    Big Coventry news tomorrow....

Apparently the tea lady's looked in our tea leaves and found an indisputable method of turning our lack of belief into winning results. That's what the gatekeeper told me, he did have shifty eyes though!
