    Glen Rea

Just read that SkyBlues have tabled a £500,000 offer for Luton centre-back Glen Rea, 21. Is he any good? anyone know?

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Lewys33......What's the 5 million you're talking about? Where did that come from? If you are talking about the extract from the article 'Wasps paid £5.54m for 100 per cent of Ricoh Arena operating firm ACL last year and took on the remainder of a £14.4m loan from Coventry City Council - which...

    Chris Stokes quote

Reminds me of the time I went to Ryton to watch the boys practicing. The team were set up to play against a series of traffic cones. I had to leave at half-time......the cones were winning 2-0.

    Scunthorpe (Away) Match Thread

Having watched City play Burton on the TV the week before, I was really pleased with the way they played........I was pretty impressed. Was the BBC correct in saying that in the whole 90 minutes against Scunny, we had only ONE shot on goal. If so that has to be a record of some kind doesn't...

Sunday League footy memories and funny stories

Correct....Stan Smith was manager and Ronnie Farmer was head coach (both former City players). Kirk Stephens was a scrawny 15 year old kid, but you could see he was going to be a pro someday, even then.

Sunday League footy memories and funny stories

Not so much a funny story, but I've read every one of the posts on this and got hit with a bout of nostalgia. I found myself reminiscing over my playing career back in Cov. Sunday League teams I played for were Wyken WMC, Canley Social, Tile Hill WMC, Binley WMC. They were bruising leagues...

    Favorite EVER CCFC Player

George Curtis, Ian Gibson, Ronnie Rees and George Hudson. If I was forced to choose between them, I'd have to go with Hudson though. Ah, those were the days.

Lucas sad that ccfc don't run ricoh

Ah.....one of the few who thinks he's one of the many. Delusion Edgy, delusion!

Lucas sad that ccfc don't run ricoh

I too am sad that CCFC didn't get the Ricoh Arena. However, failure to acquire the Arena can ONLY be attributed to one party here, I'm afraid. Most City supporters know who that is, but having read some of the diatribe on this forum, there are still a few that speak in venom. Age comes in...

Sisu make official complaint over Coventry councillors' conduct

You know the Council 'offered' a longer lease to Wasps.....for fact? Might it have been during the 'negotiation' process, that WASPS 'requested' a longer lease to make it economically justifiable? Just asking, 'cos I don't know either......I wasn't there at the negotiations......but it sounds...

    Buy the club

"as opposed to the £6m they actually received" .....£6 mill + £14 mill mortgage = £ 20 mill in my math Dave.

    Buy the club

Not so great a deal for me, as I have lived with franchising for 34 years. I can see how that might be an issue for some of you over there though.

    Buy the club

That's why they'll be known as the COVENTRY WASPS soon enough. Coventry the only City with 3 professional Rugby teams......soon, right? (For those who don't get the 60's style sarcasm.....that's 2 Rugger teams and 1 in Rugby).
  15. E

    Buy the club

But wasn't that because the Football Club said REPEATEDLY they didn't want it? I don't know which party is in power over there, but I believe it was unanimous across the spectrum that the only suitor in town was the new Coventry Wasps. Pretty easy decision in my book. Can't understand why...

    New stadium meeting with RBC

So you KNOW that they were offered it? Could it just be that during the negotiations, which are a two way dialogue, that WASPs brought up the lease change arrangement? Let's use the analogy of you selling your car. This outfit, called SISU comes along, and says they have no intention of...

    New stadium meeting with RBC

Will that make "Coventry....the city with 3 professional Rugby teams"?

Another failure of a season with sisu

Daft as it sounds.....if City had won just 4 more games (and it's not difficult to see how instead of 4 games lost, they had won them) they would be contending for a play-off spot. That's how close this division really was this year. Some might say how crappy the 3rd tier is....a lot of poor...

    Arena railway station progressing

Anyone heard what the station is to be called? Can't have any reference to the sponsors, as they change.....so no Ricoh Arena Station. "City of Coventry Arena Station" maybe?

What's your Match Day Costs ?

I've been here since 1982 and it's been fantastic. Before retiring I was in the Automotive industry, so Ontario has been great for me. Other than country pubs and the Sky Blues, haven't missed it a bit! If you ever come to Ontario, let me know.
