Not ACL itself but their parent company, it was called something like Football Investments Ltd, but that's not showing anything on google. Mr Knatchbull-Hugesson took over the directorship from them at some point in 2003. I'm going to keep looking.

You seem to have a good memory lordsummerisle. I'm pretty sure that the honorable Mr Robinson and Micky McGinnity were board members of ACL's parent company along with Alan Higgs in the early days. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the parent company though so can't check. Any idea?

My point was not directly aimed at OSB, it was a more general observation. At some point we have to trust people, but what do we base our trust upon? That a couple of people you don't know, speaking a language you don't really understand, are in agreement? Next stop, Solipsism.

This will likely not endear people to me, but ouch raises an interesting point (though not particularly politely). How do we know that someone on this forum, posting about subjects which are beyond the ken of most of us, is unbiased? It seems to be a example of the problem known as ' language...
