Stars James Franco based on the book by Stephen King

The book was excellent, like most of Stephen King's work, but the majority of adaptations are, quite frankly, gash. Be interested to see if this bucks the trend.

I've always found with Stephen King films ( and books to a lesser extent) that the first 2/3rds are always really good... But let down by rubbish endings..

It's a common complaint. He's a panster by nature (i.e.writes without planning ahead) and often reaches a point where he has to find an ending that fits what he's written. The writers that pre-plan often have stronger endings, but there is far less 'life' to the books, because the writer forces the characters to follow a scripted path rather than letting them live.
