Disgusting behaviour Oucho , it needs reporting , the club needs know how some of the fans are behaving .
I know it won't be easy but couldn't the Mrs give a description of the person who committed the assault. They should not be allowed to get away with it and if you see him again, you could point him out to a club steward at the Ricoh our to the police at away games , if you go to another away game of course , wouldn't blame you if you didn't .

I didn't see them and she doesn't want to re-visit it, so I think that particular incident is over now.

As I say though it has made her far more reluctant to do games, especially the aways where we'll have a bigger away following and therefore a bigger contingent of dickheads. Shame, as I quite enjoyed taking her to matches as a shared activity. As well as the incident at the ground she was pretty disgusted by the scenes in the station video (we know a few of those in the video and you can see one of our mates getting thumped in the face, he came out of it with a fat lip through no fault of his own), and, combined with us bumping into a crew of scummy fans at Grimsby (the pub next door to ours had 3 police vans outside and we were made to walk part of the way to the ground with a rough-looking bunch who were being escorted to the ground by the police which unnerved her a lot), so all in all she's come away from this season so far with a suddenly-negative view of following CCFC away. She;s quite risk averse and even for a low profile game she asks me if anyone's likely to get thumped. I blithely said "no" on Sat morning so now she will discount my reassurances on this topic somewhat, which again is a pain because I've been to hundreds of games and never seen any trouble myself.

Worth saying as well that someone had a grope at her at the pre-match pub at Orient a few years back (again, she only told me after the fact - and this was in a designated room in the pub supposedly just for a few dozen of our mates) and even though she enjoys the crowd atmosphere and likes the group we go with, it's turning into something distasteful for her and therefore she's decided there are more fun ways to spend a Saturday. Apart from all of the above it's disappointing in that doesn't reflect well on our fanbase or indeed city (although yes I know, cretins like this can exist anywhere but she's coming away with a bad impression of Cov fans, as she has no prior connections to the city or club itself)

Bunch of arseholes, completely unacceptable behaviour. Was anybody else right behind the goal Saturday? Someone spat 2 or 3 times from the back of the stand on the fans nearer the front. The behaviour from some of our fans has got considerably worse the past couple of seasons.

Oh and I just remembered that as a group we were very unimpressed, her particularly so, when some tosser towards the back of the stand, directly behind the goal, decided to hurl a pintful of beer over everyone in front of him when the final whistle went. It probably splattered over 7-8 rows of people; got in the mrs' hair and on her clothes which she (reasonably enough) didn't shrug off quite as I did. Could it have been the same bloke, or from the same group? Sounds like it was. If you happen to have, understandably, left early, you wouldn't be sure.

A mate of mine in my row was with was all for storming up to the top and confronting this lad for this sort of chavvishness and I had to physically restrain him from doing so, right in front of the mrs Oucho.....again, not the quiet, friendly, aggro-free trip to the football Mrs was promised and certainly not the sort of thing she is used to normally in "civilian" life or the sort of thing she finds amusing. Now, reasonably enough, she says she can do without these sort of events in future.....haven't got anything to say to change her mind at the moment, unfortunately.

She doesn't know I've written this on here but as 95+% of you don't know who I am (and therefore who she is) I don't suppose it'll matter, but I won't mention to her that I have, so if you do know us, don't mention it to her. "Occasions when I was groped" isn't high up her list of conversation topics funnily enough.

Also thanks (sarcasm mode) to the various dickheads who caused the trouble at the station, threw beers on us and groped the mrs, you've put her off football and CCFC for the foreseeable despite me working hard for a few years to involve her in our group of supporters, you're a real credit to the club and city. Wankers.

Edit...sorry for the bad language but it sticks in my craw, apart from owt else, that she's not a football person, has no connection to Cov and yet I have dragged her to dozens of games over the last few years including at a few right shiteholes, she has warmed up to coming to games and has made some friends. All of this has been against her better judgement and often she hasn't enjoyed it but has made a real effort and persevered, but she has felt involved in a bigger group and has enjoyed days out, we were going to go to an increased number og games this year....now all that progress have made has been lost because she doesn't want to allow a repeat. FFS.

Thankfully not had anything like that, but I reckon if you were the row above and he was below if you were to catch them clean they would go back a few rows. Always wary about that sort of thing with my daughter and always wonder whether people are just friendly or strange, but asking for number and address would be different and wouldn't bother letting the stewards know.

It was about 5 seasons ago in block 16.
Tbf I was held back and they all moved on at half time. I did see him again that season him and his mates were staring me out in the concourse soon fucked off when I started shouting Pedo.
Don't really like doing that sort of thing but I did feel threatened, it was about 8 v 1 didn't fancy their chances much

Yeah the guy who was nearly spat on had to be held back by his mates, no I didn't see the beer being thrown or the spitter. I sit in block 15 and can 100% say the vast majority behind me were block 14 Season ticket holders.

My missus won't go anymore, this was following Oxford away last year. Our end seemed to be full of complete morons who had gone on the train for a drinking session and after the three early goals the atmosphere was toxic.
I didn't go Saturday because I guessed the green street brigade would be out again and I think I made the right choice.
Our fans have become more aggressive and Moronic over the last few years, we used to have an away support I was proud to be part of but not anymore.
I'll be @ some of the harder to reach grounds this year, the support will be brilliant and I'll be able to enjoy a beer with fans who know how to enjoy a game of football without being a moron!
I guess it's easy to see link between relegations and a more aggressive fan base.

I went to Oxford last year, and posted afterwards about how distressing it was to see the way a sizable minority abused our players at the end of the game. The sight of grown men screaming abuse, and making obscene gestures at Cain Harris, as he left the pitch, was just terrible. I think Q70 is right, things have got worse in the last few years, and although we have been mostly poor over that time, it's not what I signed up for. I was always proud of being a City fan, and now, living a long way from Cov, I have always enjoyed going to away games, and associating with like minded fans from the City of my birth. I'm not so sure now, I've seen horrific abuse of our players at Oxford, Rochdale and Bury over the past couple of years, and now Chesterfield, following which, some of our fans hurled abuse at our Chairman at a railway station, and then start fighting. How good did that look?

So, I love my team, and will continue to follow them, but something important, and something from my youth in Coventry, is being lost.

I don't think some sort of lynch mob mentality should take over but there should be some sort of cohesion where a couple of people keep an eye on the guy, make sure he doesn't move while someone gets the police/stewards.

Nobody saw it mate, he picked his moment coming down the stairs from the stand into the concourse, at the bottom of the steps in the doorway into the bar. His mates might have had a laugh but nobody else noticed, in fairness probably rushing to the bar or toilet to beat the queue.

End of the day Coventry is full of tossers who don't give a shit about the next man or in the case woman, too many people have this mob/gang mentality where everyone else is the enemy bar them. The city has been streaming with chavs for years now and I'm afraid you'll get them at football matches.
