Coventry City look set to lose defender Jordan Willis with a host of Premier League clubs battling for his signature, Sky Sports understands.
The 17-year-old made his first-team debut last term, making three appearances for the Sky Blues.
Willis is an England youth international and is already on the radar of a host of top-flight clubs.
Sky Sports understands that Manchester City, Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton and Aston Villa are all keen on the central defender.
Willis only signed his first professional contract with recently relegated Coventry last month.

There was me thinking, it was because of all the players we are losing. So out of desperation we would need the kids. However it us actually in order to sell the kids aswell.

No one is saying they are rubbish - what is being said is that they are too young. Do you honestly think Newcastle will be shoving Bigi into the first team and expecting 20 games out of him? No they will put him in the development squad and do exactly that - develop him, allow him to learn and flourish not be expected to compete against mature experienced adults week in week out. Putting a kid in for a few games and then withdrawing him so he can recover and reflect and then try again later in the season is fine as is having one or two in the team at anyone time but our problem is that as things stand these kids are the team with a handful of experienced players to help them out not the other way round.
This is exactly what i put on the thread about them signing contracts. To be fair though, with the new rules Prem clubs could take any of our youth for next to nothing, signing them up proffesionally makes sense. As i mentioned before, will wait until Embargo is lifted to see if we actually buy anyone, before i go off an an anti sisu rant again.

Yes younger players will be put into development squads as you call them. They will also be loaned out to Div3 and Div4 teams to get experience. Some even go to the Championship. Just because they are 17 or 18 it don't mean they can't play in a 1st team somewhere.
Maybe we will sell a couple of our youngsters or more and keep them on loan for the coming season. This way the Prem teams could buy our players for what they class as peanuts and the players don't have to move for another year at least. This way SISU get the cash and we keep another player that we will need.
Again its a bit dissapointing if we lose these young lads to big clubs but thats the nature of the beast. Would like to see the younger lads stay and in theory help get us up and then would have a bigger sell on value but these bigger clubs will buy them play them in development squad then reserves then loan them out and the fact that there at a club like Newcastle will increase there value even if they dont make it there. If say Bigi joins newcastle does not make it into the team there, say in three years he is a newcastle reserve he can pick a chamiponship club and get a better wage than if he was with us in leauge one for next three years and then moved up to a championship club.
If they go it is just essentially we get value and future value such as sell on clause, apperances. We need to be realistic. If we get a million for Bigi it runs our club for a good while. While this is not ideal this is how sisu operate. Will any money be put back in no. Coventry need to survive so that better times can come again. Sooner SISU go the better but until then i dont want us to become another Rangers.
