Would it not make sense to just get one of the outfield players to take his goal kicks from now on? It's obviously a part of his game he just can't develop and it's looking like a waste of time even trying. His shot stopping is good and he'll be decent in league two, but he can't kick straight for toffee.

It's not normally fantastic but one of his kicks yesterday was probably our best effort. In fact I think it was our only real shot on target.

He's a full time footballer, I'm sure he can be trained to kick a ball properly, personally if thats much of an issue play RCC, they're pretty much the same pound for pound but with different shortfalls

Let Bigi take them I say - our deadball specialist. Seriously, that is something the manager needs to sort out before next season (the free kick bit!)

Ideally replace both!! Both cannot play a ball to a team mate consistently.
We do need a set piece man, fed up of getting free kicks on the edge of the box and looking at those around it and having zero confidence in anyone testing the keeper.

no offence, but this shows how far we have fallen that this is an idea.

We are still a professional Football club. If we cant get someone on over £50k a year who can catch a ball and kick it, get rid of him and get someone who can

Think the kid has improved since Robins took over and his confidence grown - but fans that knock him continuously are not doing him or the club any favours -

He's been a goalkeeper from what I imagine is a very young age (I use the term goalkeeper very loosely) yet he is approaching his mid twenties and hasn't learnt to grasp key, fundamental attributes required for his position. It appears more so that he isn't capable rather than he needs it training in to him. Surely this would've been noticed by Oggy and the rest of the coaches on day one.

He's not doing the club any favours by underperforming in his job week in week out.

the OP asked if we should get an outfield player to take his GK's, he wasn't knocking him.

I cant imagine any other profession club posting a thread like this.

It is quite shocking when a professional footballer can't kick a ball properly.

I think the team doctor should check his legs. Maybe they aren't straight.
PS. He won't be decent in L2, he'll be a liability.

Pitches are mostly narrow too so he's no chance of keeping one in!
In all fairness it's best to part ways. There are plenty of league one and two keepers available including 2 Scunthorpe ones both of which Robins signed while there.
Might be able to pick the understudy keeper up Joe Anyon got over 200 games under his belt and only 30

I've been highly critical of him this season but have laid off him since Wembley as he had a brilliant game and I thought he could use that to build his confidence and ability. That second yesterday was a shocker and it says to me that he just isn't good enough. I'd be disappointed if we spend some of our limited budget on renewing his contract.

I think that's being very generous to Bigi. Played well in the second half against Peterborough. Average v Charlton and I'm sure under par, light in the tackle against Sheffield united and Rochdale. Like I've said ability is there and a footballing brain but isn't constantly doing it.
If Robins can get it out of him weekly he'd be a asset

Thought he was good vs charlton. He tends to take thw responsibility to get the ball forward. Something stevenson doesnt. But that might be what
robins wants

Funny though that wheb robins doesnt play certain players its used as proof thwybr shit and wheb hw does it doesnt worj same way

Curious
