CCFCtv project (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

If you have Twitter and follow @SkyBlueTweets you may have noticed that we are looking to start a very ambitious project called "CCFCtv."

Essentially what we are looking to do is create a sort of MUTV for CCFC online (free), for the fans, by the fans. Nick here at SkyBluesTalk has very kindly offered to help with anything we need, and in order to make this project successful and get it up and running, I will be looking to work very closely with Nick and the rest of the SBT community.

What we need though, is for as much feedback as we can get, from you, the fans, (something the CCFC board, doesn't seem to know how to do properly.) If there are any ideas you have, please share them with us, as we'd really appreciate the time for you to help mould this project into exactly what you want it to be.

Here's to hoping we can get it up and running in next to no time! (Most likely on YouTube before anywhere else.)

Thanks for all of you excellent feedback so far, and thanks in advance to any which you will leave us in the near future.

Rich.

I think that it is a good idea but the biggest challenge will be getting interviews with players etc.

Obviously Sky Blues Player will be favoured by the club :(

What a fantastic idea, I wish you all the best of luck. I remember how much I used to love Sky Blue Diary every Friday evening on cable TV.

Great idea!

I still remember the old Coventry Community channel that previously ran via Coventry Cable Ltd (before the NTL/Virgin Media days), there was a show on that channel for CCFC which had the latest news on the club, on and off the pitch. It was pretty good for a local TV show.

Of course, that was then and this is now, so you could also use Facebook and Twitter to spread the word. Maybe get a mention in the match-day programme because after all, our new shiny board are big on communication.

I could mention it on @CovCityFC_LiVE as well when you get it up and running.

I liked Channel 20 the best ;) L!ve TV.

Anyway, If you need anything from Sky Blues Talk I would be more than happy to help you out :)

You just need to find a link to get people to be on there (players, past players) etc.

Thanks for all of the feedback so far! It's much appreciated guys!

One suggestion which came across via Twitter for a programme which sounded absolutely great and so much fun (via @SkyBlueArnie) would be to do a segement where the fans suggest the best CCFC goals from the past to try and replicate. For example the Donkey Kick or Houchen's diving header in the FA Cup final.

That would be a good idea as well.

With a camera over the park :)

Maybe if you did a "Take it Like a Fan" type thing every week before a game also?

Few ideas of the sortof stuff/segments you could include. Think a lot of things would involve getting permission from the club, but you'd hope they'd be willing to help, since the show they make for Sky Blues Player seems to appear pretty rarely!
- If you could get a player on board each week or each month for a Q&A sortof thing, that'd be great.
- At Preston away, there were a group of people outside the ground with cameras stopping people and asking for them on their thoughts before the game, scoreline, scorers, and the odd other question. Could be an idea to see if the club would let you do this before and after games to get opinions.
- If you're looking for more segments, might be an idea to think outside the box a bit (remember Through The Keogh?!). Maybe do a quiz segment with a couple of fans or something?

This is the sortof thing i mean by having a quiz sortof thing. Could be great i think!

(EDIT: Blimey, that was an awful sentence! Sorry about that haha)

If you have any contractual issues regarding not being able to be live between 3-5 on match days, speak to GMK, they seem to have that problem in the bag...

"Sky Blues Phoenix From the Flames". I like it!

I'd like to see the time Gazza broke his arm lashing out at Lloyd McGrath. Lloyd had been all over him like a rash (as was his want), and Gazza was getting increasingly frustrated at not being able to find a yard of space. Eventually he swung an arm out to try and shake him off, and bust his own arm! Brilliant.

I too, like the idea of doing a Take It Like A Fan sort of quiz. Would be very interesting to say the least.

One possible segement a week could be a look at a former Sky Blues legend, as part of a Hall of Fame or something along those lines? Eg. Dublin, Huckerby, Shaw etc.

That is a good idea too, it just depends how much time you have and what access to archives you can get.

Yeah I'd agree that player interviews would be hard to set up initially, but once it's up and going and getting publicity it'd probably be a lot easier to do.

I'd say doing interviews with fans right after games (outside the ground) would probably be pretty decent, especially for away games. Like the idea of re-creating classic goals (or even just classic moments, we may not have scored enough goals! ;)) too, a bit like baddiel and skinner used to do!

Edit: maybe predictions from fans before games too, I remember the old Channel 10 show doing that! I was interviewed once and got it 100% right, score and scorers (2-0, Salako and Soldvedt!) and the bastards didn't show me :)

I'm hoping the power of Twitter (as Jutkiewicz, Keogh, Clarke, Huckerby, Dublin to name a few all have accounts) could be the place to start interviews, by conducting them via Private Messaging on there to start with, before branching out into the video interviews, just to get the ball rolling.

Thanks for the continued feedback guys! This is really helping it to take shape.

Speak to Billy Bell at the casino, especially at this week's Watford match, there's set to be 46 or so CCFC legends in there and you could discuss with them how you could do it?

How about including more around the youth set up offering profiles of each youth player in a segment called, "The Future of CCFC".

A programme called the future of CCFC would be a tragedy

Following from this, if face to face interviews are difficult to set up at first you could do an audio recording and set up a pod cast for the show. I imagine Nick could help in hosting it on this site.

Can we get this thread moved to a 'sticky' as its going to get lost with some of the other rubbish and this could hopefully have some legs.

Sounds good, but I think the biggest issue is not the technology but getting up to date information from players etc. BBC already have the rights to the highlights, so it's going to be tough. Think it should be more a magazine type programme. Following fans on away trips, fans telling stories about their sky blue experiences. I must admit I love hearing about the pre 60's era etc.

I wish you well but we know how greedy City are and if they think it will hinder their Sky Blue World subscriptions in anyway I can see them boycotting you fairly sharpish and not allowing players to be interviewed. I hope I'm wrong for your sake and ours. Good luck

Hey guys,

Once again thanks for all the feedback, it's been truely phenominal!! Keeping with the magazine style programme, last night I created a few (fairly basic) adverts just to get the ball rolling.

I like the idea of having one following City fans at an away ground, maybe perhaps doing an away day, for example at the last game of the season at Norwich, and seeing if we can get anything done there as a possibility?

Thanks again.

Rich.

Starting up a CCFCtv

I will have a word with Billy Bell down at the casino tomorrow about it (Re:the Legends' involvement) and see what I can do.
