Computer build (1 Viewer)

Need a new PC but trying to save a bit of money by building it myself. Don't really understand what the specs mean of PC's but I've put something together that I think is pritty good. I don't need it to run anything like the latest games (I play strategy games on PC). I just want something super fast. Willing to spend about £600.

Happy for any help.

The Graphics card and PSU will be used from my existing computer.
Graphics card :- AMD Radeon HD 6570
PSU :- Cooler master 550W bronze

I built my own a few months ago, and was advised to to spend on the graphics card rather than another 16gb RAM...

Is your graphics card up to the job?

Also, to get a 650W PSU...

I'm sure more knowledgeable than me on here can advise if this was right or wrong...

32GB of RAM is overkill in my opinion, I'd stick with just 16GB or maybe even 8GB as that is all you would use for games.

Even if you don't play the latest games I would still get a better graphics card (such as a GTX 750, cheap and can handle most new games) just so if in the future you wish to play higher demanding games you can.

How much is the whole build going cost Marty? My eldest is still badgering me for gaming PC for Xmas so he can play minecraft and make mods. I'd have to add a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the list.

He's got no chance this Christmas.

The original list posted came to £502. With the graphics card and PSU, it'll be close to another £200 on top of that, then a case to stick it all in, £30. Then monitor and peripherals will probably come to about £150. Total of about £900.

Eclipse computers use to have a customise feature on there website for gaming PC's, maybe worth a look.

May still be out of your reach, but the ebuyer sale isn't too bad. Upgraded to the higher spec on the CPU, got everything else the same and it comes in nearly £100 cheaper.

Finally got it built but I'm having a problem. The cpu fan does a quater turn on start up then just stops.

Any ideas??

Yes. It's odd. I've gave it a spin with my finger and it fired up but has since stopped.
