Thought this thread could be an interesting idea. Basically giving out rare facts about Coventry City that other people may not have heard of.

Did you know that in 2003 we were very close to signing Fabrizio Ravanelli?

McAllister was so impressed by the potency of his front men Suffo, Adebola and sub Morrell that he has decided there is no room in his squad for Fabrizio Ravanelli.

"The deal fell through last night after a lot of negotiations, and we will be walking away from that one," said McAllister.

Close escape there, that was the Ravanelli fresh off doing nothing for Derby, just before doing nothing for Dundee. He'd have fit right in!

Coventry Rejected Kevin Keegan as a 16 year old as he was seen to be too small to make it. How many times do you hear about the 'too small' excuse. Will that ever happen again after Messi?!

Aron Gunnarsson can throw a ball further then Kevin Kyle could trap one

Made all the more ridiculous when we went on to play such giants as Strachan, Wise, Tabb and Ducros.

We turned down Kevin Keegan from Scunthorpe because they decided that he was too small and wouldn't make it!

Paul Cook could drink his own weight in lager and often did after a game in Lloyds bar, Noel Whelan was a chain smoker, Dave Speedie was a top notch pool player, Lee Hughes was a fatty arbuckles regular, Lloyd McGrath owns Hawkesmill sports club and I spend too much time in pubs :-?

Paul Cook and Mick Quinn (who was on penalties at the time) went into the bookies on the Binley Road (before it was Ladbrokes) and put £200 on each on Cook to score the first goal at 12/1. Quinn gets fouled in the box and hands the ball to Cook. Both go together to collect with big grins on their faces :)
