Just wondering when the WMCA or the city council are going to announce the proposed deal. The Government had announced it before Christmas. This might have something to do with transparency.

Really worries me the sort of Local Democracy that is being set up here, and the lack of information being made available to the public.

Could they be waiting until after the local elections?

Reminds me of the EU, looks great in principal but will end up bloated and corrupt.

The names involved don't give me any confidence what's so ever.

Let's ignore that the Coventry electorate has already rejected the idea of a mayor. I am sure they have came up with an excuse to get around that one already. London has an assembly but we have a cabinet?

How does that work then?

So what powers are they proposing for this new Mayor to have, and the shift of powers from local to regional Government which they said would not happen under Local Democracy.

Does any shift of powers from local to regional Government require a referendum?

If this is going ahead then doesn't it mean we either need less MPs or less local counsellors?
