Coventry City fans will stage a tongue-in-cheek protest against Sisu chief Joy Seppala on Saturday as part of their campaign to keep the club at The Ricoh Arena.

The Sky Blue Trust have pounced on an off-the-cuff remark by chief executive Tim Fisher who said last month: “They should put a statue of Joy Seppala outside the ground for the £45million she has put into the club.”

And now they are planning to meet outside the ground at Noon this Saturday to take him at his word and present their ‘tribute’ to the notoriously camera-shy Finnish-American boss of the hedge fund which is threatening to ground-share for three years and build its own stadium rather than continue to rent the Ricoh from ACL.

Trust spokesman Moz Baker said: “It’s really important fans keep up as much pressure as possible to stop the plan of moving Coventry City outside the city of Coventry, which we know from the Telegraph’s poll and our own members is massively opposed by supporters.

”Building on our recent successful London protest, the Trust’s next event will be at noon on Saturday by the Jimmy Hill statue at the Ricoh Arena.

“The event will be based on Tim Fisher’s recent suggestion that fans should erect a statue of Joy Seppala. Supporters will therefore unveil a ‘statue’ of Ms Seppala so people can look at the Jimmy Hill statue and think of all he achieved for Coventry City and perhaps then reflect on the current owner’s plan to move home games out of Coventry.

“It’s a light hearted way of conveying the very serious message that we must keep Coventry in Coventry.

“There is intrigue as to what the ‘statue’ will look like given that there are no public photographs of Joy Seppala and she has never met with fans, despite invitations from the Trust to do so, but people will just have to come along to the unveiling and see for themselves.

”The Sky Blue Trust is so concerned about the threat to move games outside Coventry that we are branding our campaign as ‘Keep Coventry in Coventry – not one penny more’ and encouraging our members not to buy CCFC shirts or other merchandise until it is confirmed home fixtures will be played at the Ricoh.”

Concerned fans continue to join the campaign via the Telegraph’s petition which has now been signed by over 11,200 people on line and 3,000 by post.

So have the Trust changed their stance on the NOPM protest, and it's only in place until games return to the Ricoh?

Ill be honest and say I haven't read all posts on this forum recently. I browse them, but don't read all the detail. Seems a bit ignorant of me, I know but I just want the current situation to end now :( Reading some posts make it even more depressing (no offence people ;) )

Its not a bad ploy If you wish to draw out the reclusive owner who relies on Greg Clark to protect the anonymity of our Owner with the Immortal "Owners don't wish to be Identified as their

Wealth may induce fans to expect them to go out and purchase players". Or words to that effect ,I think in defense of our leader but possibly a generalisation.

I think Its time we knew who holds the wrecking ball over us ,would be nice to think a little targeted coverage may bring that about.

I think it is quite a good publicity stunt.

It highlights the complete and utter contempt that Mr Fisher has for our fans by telling them they should put up a statue of Joy in a flippant comment.

It also highlights the contempt Joy has for the fans that we do not even know what our owner looks like.

A person moving our football club possibly 30 miles away.
Is anonymous?

so, if JS has put 45m into the club does that mean she is a majority owner, i.e. over 10%,
are you sure TF ?
looks like sisu are making venkys look like saints,
& forward on a few months, years,
how will this debacle look to any future prospective investors in sisu ?
fit & proper owners ?
when Dulieu, Igwe, & crew put their heads above the parapet again?
come on Football League follow your mandate,
which is to support the fans !!!!

What do you expect from the FL when it is lead by Greg Clark ex Incester and involved in their administration which bypassed League rules and gained an unfair promotion.

He is bound to see no evil in SISU he is from the same stock.
