I've just bought the season pass and am getting a message saying "playback problems" on the app
They reckon if you add card details to the site. Then go to pay it will work
Try it on the computer
you do wonder why they (whoever "they" are) didn't trial this with a pre season game to ensure everyone who wanted to be ready for this game could have been
They have also just confirmed to me games can only be viewed via a computer.
....mine is playing the local Grimsby commentary!!... in awful quality too....
I've just found a stream on Youtube:
They keep displaying random codes on the screen, I guess like Sky to see which account is sharing it.
Sorted on laptop. Anyone figured out how to delay the video or radio commentary to make the work
I can barely get a decent video stream. The joys of Australian fibre broadband...
Works fine for me on the iPad using the App. The Grimsby camera work is all over the place though. Why does he keep panning over the crowd?
He loves a good crowd shot don't he.
Do you have to pay when you're overseas?
Yeah £130 or game by game
Nick, what we should do is set something up where we take it in turns to pay, and stream it for other payers. But use different accounts so if 1 gets banned we can use another a week later. Could have a forum just for us payers. I don't know if it's possible but I definitely would be willing to dip my hand in my pockets to pay to view the away games I'm not attending
It is but I don't fancy the trouble for it same as stream ing audio
But surely if you set it up so it's effectively private, and you can only get access by being a paid member. I don't know anything about computers so...
Yeah it is possible and easy to do, but sadly id get hammered for it
That's ok, we don't mind.
I don't understand the benefit of this? Do you mean just one person pays at a time and everyone else sees a stream? Don't you feel like that's cheating the club out of money?
I think we should pay if we are watching it. Happy to provide the money to enjoy watching the game from the comfort of my own home (in France/some other overseas location of course )
Yes, one person pays at a time. It's not taking money from the club, it's like when you stream a game that's shown live on sky, the club have received the money from sky, it's then down to sky to get customers for it.
"Advertising revenue from the live streams will benefit the league, but the subscription model works through each club’s site and so they receive the revenue for their subscriptions and will stand to benefit from the audience data around the broadcasts that can be used in other parts of the marketing mix."
How the English Football League plans to make its 'broadcaster' ambitions commercially viable
Stop being a tight arse and get your wallet out and support the club
I hate being proved wrong. In that case I'm willing to pay for the service then.
Tbf, the clubs website stopped me from making payment earlier.
Haha I know same!! The site and app definitely needs some fine tuning.
There is no commentary btw, but you can open a new tab and play the audio/radio. Just have to play around pausing the video from a split second to let the radio stream catch up
I don't want to listen to eakin and foster at the best of times, the pair of boring tarts.
Is Foster back again?
My screen froze at half time and It stayed that way despite many attempts to get coverage going again.Did anyone else on this have this problem?
Came on here and saw some of second half though. Thanks, "Elephant".
I had same but logged out then back in and worked ok.
Lucky you J. Tried that didn't work for me
I haven't had any problems using the App via iPad or iPhone. I haven't yet tried the computer.
Chromecast your browser works. Kind of. Or I just bought a hdmi dongle for the computer and plugged it in. Faffing
I hope those watching via Youtube yesterday have a VPN installed. A recent European court case makes it illegal to watch streamed copyright material. If they ask Youtube for all IP address connected to the content I'm sure they would oblige.
