    Name: Kimberley Dougherty

    Job title: Health Coordinator

Time at SBitC: I started working with Sky Blues in the Community in March 2013 to deliver the Impact project in Warwick (community based health project). I have continued to work as part of the health team and since working for SBitC I have been involved in a range of health based projects and events.

Day to Day Role: My role is to oversee the design, planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of the In It Together project. This project is funded by Sport England and Public Health for 3 years and aims to provide fitness and sporting activity sessions. The project targets young women aged 13 – 19 in all Secondary Schools and women 18+ in a number of community centers across Coventry. All sessions are for females only and encourage women to have fun and socialise whilst getting active together.

Most Rewarding: The most rewarding part of this role is the impact the In it Together sessions have had on the local girls and women that have been part of the project. Since starting the project in January 2016 we have noticed changes in weight, motivation and self-confidence of many of the project participants. Seeing the relationships between the women/girls and the staff grow has also been rewarding.

Areas for Development: With the In it Together project only being in its first year of delivery I am keen to build on the project’s success in year 2 and 3. There are many local sports clubs in the City and although we have already worked with some, I am keen to develop links with all of them to offer a wide range of sports and activities as part of the project.

Biggest Achievement: The Impact project won ‘CSW Community Project of the Year’ in 2015. From a personal point of view, my biggest achievement is climbing Ben Nevis.

Interests: Most of my interests are focused around sports. I currently play ladies football and have previously played in the FA Women’s Football Premier League.
