I've had a pint in the Casino with Bill Glazier, cleaned the late Ernie Machin's windows when he lived on the Ansty Road,as a kid knocked on George Hudson's door asking for his autograph and getting it,and when the City trained in Shilton in the sixties,me and my mate got a muddy ball off Jimmy Hill. All this sounds a bit surreal now,but feel privileged to have had these memories.Any fans on here have similar memories ?

thaiskyblue as I'm a window cleaner I was left speechless when I cleaned a new house on Ansty Road and the bloke admired my city top,I asked him was he a fan ? when he said he was Ernie Machin I said he could have a free clean ! he was a smashing bloke as you may well have found out ?

Sad then but have fond memories nevertheless. He told me my hero George Hudson was a lazy bastard and George Curtis told him to get back and defend more or he'd get a right hook. He never tracked back or got chinned !Hudson was as tough as Curtis !

Saw kevin Kyle outside of borders and Martin Cranie outside pets at home. I am using the term "hero" incredibly loosely here...

Kevin Kyle was always in the bookies opposite Wetherspoons in Bedworth. Whacking silly money into the roulette machines. He doesn't really count, the same as anybody who has ever been for a piss in the Skydome has seen Kevin Thornton.

Jimmy Greaves was doing a book signing in Brum many years ago and I took my young son with me.
I was so awestruck I could hardly speak. On the way out my lad said who was he ?I said one of Englands greatest ever players. he wasn't impressed as he said " he's too old and fat to be a footballer. " What do kids know ?

was on a stag once in Amsterdam ,me and my mate were in the red light area "floating about ", window shopping , when we heard an english voice shout "what we gonna do Bob ", the reply was "gonna get mad with it ", the bob was Robert Rosario, he was with Jason Dozzel as well, they soon swerved me and my mate after we ripped into them a bit.
