was anybody else worried when they saw him starting yesterday and not Clingan?

I dont think Clingan would have looked after Brown like Doyle though, Brown bullied Gunnar all the way thru the FA Cup ties.

I think AB will play players to suit matches.

My thoughts exactly!! We will play people who are on form and who suit the tactics required for certain opposition. I was shocked that Wood, McPake and Clingan were on the bench as well at the start but AB obviously decided the attributes of Doyle, Turner and Cameron would be more suited to dealing with Pompey in a certain way and it worked a treat. I think a big part in Coleman's downfall was probably playing players just because of who they were (Clinton Morrison, Stephen Wright [captain])
