I worked at Ryton, 1988-93. I took a VR payment. The work force bent over backwards/reeled to threats of closure on a few occasions over the next few years. They even took pay cuts to accommodate extra shifts. But the French still closed the plant.
I, personally will never buy a peugeot vehicle, even second hand. I wouldn't accept one if given for free.
Just remember what this company has done to the local population the next time you choose a new car.
