Its a funny thing this Facebook and the police. It's almost as if, because it's in the public domain, they have to act.

Brother had his bike stolen from his garden the other night. Very upsetting as the guy who stole it trampled over part of the garden where he had a memorial for his dead son (lad was only 6 when he died). Told police, who said they can't do much, which is probably right as its the cuts etc, and they've doubless got more important things to do than hunt down a stolen bike - even if it's expensive and how's he going to get to work in the morning, and now he's got the heartache of metophorically seeing size 9 footprints every time he looks at his little boy's memorial....

...However, spoke to the neighbours who have CCTV everywhere...they check their recordings and have great video of the toe rag doing it. It goes on Facebook and sure enough, there's an outcry and someone identifys this kid.

Probably not the right thing to go public and half of Counden get involved....but it's meant the culprit has to fess up and Police finally take it seriously, why not? After all, check out WMP's YouTube channel, there's loads of CCTV they publicise to find offenders.
