Free speech or is it? Macheda of Man Utd is now fined 15k for comments he made on twitter.
I would rather see free speech not paralysed because it suits a club. If you hold views and whatever they are that's your right. Clubs can always come out and say they don't condone what he says. best they just ignore it, why would anyone think the comment is anything other than the person in question anyway?

The principal of free speech must be upheld except in areas of national security or the like.

Depends what's being said.

Twitter is a dangerous one because it takes seconds to tell hundreds of thousands of people something.

Twitter is teh same as any other broadcast media - your views are you own and you should be able to state them as long as they are not illegal.

Having said that I could get sacked for making derogatory comments about the company I work for........ it's in my contract.
