Yes, I know. However, I was making a point to SBJ who seemed to think that working with a supermarket, sorry partners, in a large development is something underhand - only something a hedge fund like SISU would do. I was just reminding him how much Tesco had to do with the Ricoh project.

As for the £22M. It's a shame CCFC couldn't have done the deal with the Spanish bank who were going to give them that.

As you well know, that money did not quite stretch far enough and CCC were left to foot a £22M bill, £14.4M of which is outstanding & was central to the recent JR.

The hearing was about whether or not the loan made to ACL by CCC was legal. That's it. The reasons are almost academic.

This is why I will be "disappointed" and that's putting it mildly if the costs of the JR are added to the debt mountain our club has.

Which just goes to show how these big deals can collapse & come to nothing (although in the case in point there was a white knight to rescue it)..

But yes it was a sound idea to get Tesco to pay but not an original one, other stadia have been financed similarly or by building in industrial developments (e.g. Pride Park) or housing & leisure developments (e.g. Emitates and now Sixfields).

It was outrageously expensive compared to grounds of coat able size.
