Does it? I was trying to explain it to him.

As for the prick comment, quite funny really. The angry keyboard warriors really are out in force today aren't they? The sun must be getting to some people.

Still waiting for you to back up your accusations and claims, but as per usual you can't.

Typical really, throw loads of shit about but can't back it up.

Just to be clear I have never been a SISU advocate or apologist ( I was warning about possible consequences in 2008 when they came in) but people have to ask the right questions and look at facts that are available. Should in my opinion be balanced

Not sure how much additional funding is expected. Seems to a consensus among some it wouldn't have taken much (certainly not millions). So I am going to play devils advocate here and say that SISU/ARVO did provide additional funding for the 2015/16 season

It states very clearly in the 31/05/2015 accounts that SISU & ARVO provided £780k in rolling finance after that date which had been paid down to £530k in February 2016. The note goes on to explain Maddison had been sold so I am assuming the pay down of 250k was from his sales proceeds otherwise link the two

That means on top of increased attendances SISU/ARVO provided 750K additional finance for the 2015/16 season. Now given that the club didn't have many players in June, July 2015, that we didn't actually buy anyone in, but that the major cost of CCFC is wages does that mean the owners actually backed a push for the Championship with significant funding by L1 standards?

Very interesting OSB. If correct, that'll shut a few up. A couple of questions though (I don't expect you to answer the 2nd one if you don't wish to):

    * Is there anything else that the additional £750k might have been spent on? No one off costs or increased annual costs that might have accounted for where it went? I'm just trying to be clear if this additional money actually was made available to TM or whether it have actually been used elsewhere.

    * If this is the case, does this add credence to the fact that TM might have under-delivered? He was backed for promotion but we're still in L1?!

    * Sorry, a 3rd question has now come up. If the 2nd question is true (which I guess is based on opinion), then are they likely to do the same again for the new season?

    Thoughtfully,

    WM

Is there anyway to see what that finance was for? How it was used?

Could any of it been for Jones or that deal?

I've always had the utmost respect for you and the information you provide on this forum, and I'd never even for a second think or say you were a SISU apologist, but wouldn't you say this poster (chiefdave) is one?.....

you are right nick I had forgotten that but as ever the fee was undisclosed but it wouldn't have been £750k surely.

Still means extra funds were available to the club whichever way you look at it.

No I think he would have been 100k at the very most.

I guess it doesn't say the date it was put in does it?

only that it was after 31/05/15 (so for this financial year) and £250k repaid before 2015 accounts signed off end of February 2016

Hard to say, unless it was part of the agreement of TM staying.

If they threw it in in January for a boost, I can't see those players costing £750k either in wages.

Then there are people like Rose / Lorentson etc.

Why don't you ask Grenduffy his thoughts? You never know, he might give an estimate somewhere between 100k and 750k....(Just for balance eh?)
and as OSB58 said, seriously doubt Vincelot cost any where near that figure. Seem to recollect a figure being bandied about of 100k-150k though I'm not stating that as a fact, I may be wrong ;) Perhaps the 750k figure was to cover Cole and Turner's wage. Yet again I'm not saying this is fact, just putting it out there you know?

I was asking you what you thought of it, after you said they should put about 750k in...

It is completely different isn't it than trying to get somebody to say somebody else is a SISU apologist FFS.

Is it going to be another one of those days where you try to catch people out but just make yourself look silly?

    What are you talking about?

It reports it to the moderators if it is offensive / spam.

You were randomly trying to get OSB to say somebody else was a SISU apologist with a random quote.

Looking silly? Funny that, I wasn't the only person who noticed your post and thought it was strange.

is there a way of working out the player's wage bill from the accounts?

Also, like Brylowes says, pay offs, contract terminations etc?

Was Swansons contract terminated, or was he sold/given to that Scottish club (can't remember what one he went to off hand)

On 3 July 2014, Swanson signed a two-year contract with Coventry City after rejecting a new contract at Peterborough United.[SUP][7][/SUP]
Swanson signed on loan for St Johnstone for the latter part of the 2014–15 season on 3 February 2015.[SUP][8][/SUP] He returned to Coventry City for close season 2015, but had his contract terminated on 1 September 2015 by mutual consent.[SUP][9]

    Scrap that question :) [/SUP]

Only thing I might add though is that often the settlement is staged. A lump sum with clean break is also discounted to some degree. Would depend on what was in the contract.

What sort of area would the pay off be though?

For arguments sake, say SP was on 1.5K a week? And he had 3 1/2 years left on that contract IIRC, that's around £273,000, or would they settle at say a couple of months wages in one hit or...?

Hopefully the club had a clause about dropping into the relegation zone, which reduced the pay off significantly.

That's true, contracts wouldn't have changed that much but for the exception of Agents Fees.

Normal practise is that the club pay the ex managers wages till they get a new job or a percentage off the wages.

Would you care to explain what in that makes me a SISU apologist? Think its the first time I've been named one of those, was called a council apologist more than once - not really sure how I can be both.

You commented in a thread about what our owners would do to move the club forward that money being paid into the club was being used for 'paying rent to another football club and paying for a new pitch to be laid'. But its not is it? Unless you know something nobody else does the money I've paid for my season ticket isn't paying rent for another football club or for a new pitch to be laid.

I completely stand by the club that if we are being run with the aim of being self sufficient the more money the fans put in the more likely we are to succeed.

Certainly will, I mention £150k for laying a pitch at Northampton, and you try to "Poo Poo it" as if it's irrellevant in what SISU did! How the f**k do you say "Move the Club forward" if the money that you and other fans have paid into the Club is being used to rent a ground 35 miles away from it's roots, and actually pay for a new pitch to be laid there in the process! So Yes, I think being a SISU apologist is a damned good description of you.

Edit- The bare minimum of that £150k could have gone into strengthening the team, but no they sell Wilson in the process, and "How much of that money went back into the team?"
