If Wigan beat them on Saturday they're back in it so I vote DOWN :)

I actively campaigned for a YES vote for nine months, so am at presently terribly disappointed in the crushing defeat. I actually leafleted for AV at the Ricoh before the Watford game, and to be honest, it was the best reception I've ever had, people accepting a leaflet even coming over. I was the lad in the Cov away kit if that jogs your memory.

It's just a terrible shame that most voters were completely misinformed and overtly lied to...

If you want an explanation, please ask, but I warn you it'll be a post like the one I wrote about Marlon King back in the day :D

AV was desperately flawed for two key reasons - although it would have favoured Labour in the south of England and I'm a socialist, I had to vote No on principle. Thank goodness common sense has prevailed.

I voted yes but in reality av is a poor alternative. I think if we were to have reform proportionate representation would be better. What worries me is the torries redrawing the boundaries and reducing the number of mps which will make it far more likely that the torries stay in power for a long long time.

It does make me laugh how clog and the lib dems got into bed with the torries, turning their back in their major beliefs (scrapping tuition fees, vat, nhs reforms, etc) so they could have a referendum that cost of millions for a system that was comprehensively dismissed. Oh well I suppose they continue to work "in the countries interest"

I voted no simply because I do not agree with the fact that under AV some would have more say in a result than other. Definitely think we should have a real national debate about whether or not proportional representation is the way to go

Voted yes, would have campained for the yes vote but wasn't traveling to do it...
AV is flawed, but its a damn sight better than what we have now, thats the sad thing and we've blown our only chance for probably 30 or so years to give two fingers to the tory's.

One of the key no campain MP's came out and admitted that they lied the other day (the 250million figure they claimed was 'plucked out of the air because it sounds good'). Combine that, with people wanting to give the libdems a kicking (with good reason) and a very stupid time to hold a vote, it was never really going to win...

Hopefully we'll get PR in my lifetime >.< we're the only country in europe who doesn't have it (even the Scottish Parliment has a system that uses a PR vote).

We should of had an alternative vote with the options:

- first passed the post
- alternative vote
- proportionate representation

That would have been more interesting!
