Nanci Griffith, so many great songs by this singer, difficult to pick just one:

lol.

Surely if heading in that direction, Ronnie James Dio would have been the better choice?
Don't agree, NW. I think Turner had a much better voice than Dio.

Takes all sorts I suppose, but he was always just a generic pop singer with, sure, a decent range, but not much about him beyond that.

That said... off to put on Difficult to Cure and Bent Out of Shape today while working, to see if I can change my mind!

(Might even try Slaves and Masters for the lols, too!)

I have Slaves and Masters (and the rainbow albums you mentioned). I think that 'Love Conquers All' is a great track.

Ironically, the greatest singer to ever grace Earth would of been 70 today.

Happy Birthday Freddie Mercury, much love to you.

Pure 'voice' it would have to be freddy. For me I would still go for Axl Rose, the voice that I grew up on!!

Freddie Mercury was good. I saw a TV documentary about his life a while ago and they had a scene where he was singing a song (none of his famous ones) while walking down a staircase that was stupendous (the song that is not the staircase).

Quite like Jim Reeves after my late mum played his albums all the time.
Has anyone said John Lydon yet he is one of my faves along with Frank Sinatra!
