In the year we won the Cup 87 U2 released The Joshua Tree and to mark the anniversary of the album they're doing a world tour, and the concerts will see the band performing all the tracks. It is a great album but got me thinking what other bands album would you like to see be performed again ? Having just one choice even if the group/artist no longer exists for me it would be Fire and Water by Free. Any more ?

I've been listening to Doves recently as my son left two of their albums behind as he moved out a year ago.Their debut Lost Souls, and The Last Broadcast. Really good especially Lost Souls, nice and mellow !

Oasis Dig out your soul. Love oasis and love all their albums (especially the masterplan), but think their last album was by far their best. Could really hear their ties to the beatles in it.

Holy Bible by the Manics. Didn't realise they were doing a 20th anniversary tour of it a year or so back so missed out. I'm not sure it would have been quite the same anyway.

Loved The Joshua Tree when it came out 30 years ago,Not a bad song on the album.
I wonder if the City can get to Wembley 30 years on too?

Maybe a nice coincidence ? Two tracks on the album could be changed to One Tree Jimmy Hill and Bullet The Sky Blue ? Sorry !

Been to a few album shows.
The Wildhearts - Earth vs The Wildhearts
    The Wildhearts - p.h.u.q.
Terrorvision - How to Make Friends and Influence People
    Therapy - Troublegum
    Green Day - Cookie
New Found Glory - Sticks and Stones
    Extreme - Pornograffitti
Lit - A Place in the Sun
    Manics - The Holy Bible
and next Friday is The Wildhearts playing Fishing for Luckies at Rock City

Couple of shows where bands played their entire new album
Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death
    The Wildhearts - Chutzpa
Manics - Journal for Plague Lovers

Would have loved to have gone to the Living End tour a couple of years back but they only played Australia. Did 5 cities and, at least, 6 nights in each city, That was every album they'd released at that point.

One of my favourite bands. Not that well known over here but they still try and get over for at least one run of gigs for each album.

A mate of mine like me is a huge rock fan and recently was talking about the band Foghat. He kept on saying how great they are/were but I had to own up and admit I'd never heard of them. His face a picture of shock like The Scream !

Did that one and Bizzaro. Also saw Peter Hook and the light doing Bortherhood and Lowlife on the same night last year. Wonder Stuff Hup! was another and is one of my favourite albums.

The Joshua Tree was the soundtrack to that cup run for me, especially for the trips to Sheffield and all over in the Spring of 87. Could be why it is one of my all time favourite albums.
I have seen U2 in concert ten times. The first time in 1981, I believe! No better live act IMHO

Saw them twice in 87 and again at the O2 in 2015. Fantastic live band. Will struggle to get a ticket for July though.

Last year my son and sister bought me some CDs and amongst them was Alone In The Universe by Jeff Lynne's ELO. Never been a big fan so never played it but thought I'd give it a go last night. I love it ! Just goes to show just because a band/artist doesn't appeal to you years ago, that don't mean your opinion can't change !

Once struck the lead singer of this band with a 25 yarder mud pie at the 1996 Reading festival.

    My "lame to fame"!

I got this album when it first came out. I love it! I think Jeff Lynne has been slightly affected by his time with the Travellin' Wilburys because one or two tracks are very George Harrison, Roy Orbison type of songs. I don't mind as I was also a massive fan of the TW's. My personal favourite track on this album is "When I was a Boy".

I liked it that much I put it back on when I came in earlier. Not a bad track on it in my opinion. Not sure what stopped me playing it before.Yes I could feel the Orbison/Harrison influence in a few tracks but that ain't a bad thing.Pretty Woman came on the radio the other day and I was humming it on the window round for hours after hearing it !

Was this the one where they were supported by The Twang at the old Dome nightclub? Hup is one of my favourite albums.

Got it on again ! Love that track too but my favourite is The Sun Will Shine On You and also All My Life. All the tracks have a 70's feel to them which I like as to me it was a great decade for music.

    A couple from me..

Radiohead - Pablo Honey. My favourite album by them.
Counting Crows - August & Everything After. Listened to this so much as a kid. Duritz's voice is just mega.
