Upgrading next year (1 Viewer)

Thinking of upgrading my season ticket next year to either Jag lounge or Legends or similar.
What are the pros and cons gents?
I'm spending my own money so I don't write it off to the company accounts like everybody else.
I just fancy watching the footy in a bit more comfort before and after and half time.
It's an age thing!!!

I think it's quality in the legends lounge, and I dont even have a season ticket. Went to about 5 games this season for £30 a ticket, get a decent seat without a load of chavs shouting in your ear, you can walk inside to a proper bar at half time and have a pint in an actual glass (not the cheapest pints but living in London it still doesnt seem too bad!!). Also little things like nice toilets that aren't absolutely heaving and covered in piss...
Also get to watch soccer saturday at half time and see how everyone else is doing. Think you might get free tea and coffee too, and a programme.

I don't know how much more it works out for a season ticket but I definitely think it's worth it. You don't get the atmosphere that you do in the other stands but let's face it, with a 70% empty Ricoh when do you get an atmosphere anyway unless you're in the corner?

You've just listed all my favourite things and made them out to be bad :D.

Been in there a couple of times, was OK but all a bit sanitised.

Give me an open air trough to piss in and a seat next to a toothless moron dropping the C-bomb now and again every day of the week.

Do you have to wear smart trousers / shoes or can anybody go in?

The Legends lounge is excellent. I spent 2 seasons in there before this season upgrading to level 1.

The corporate experience is very good at the Ricoh.

Dress code is smart / casual. No club colours , kit wise are allowed. But I think that's the case in the corporate section of most grounds.

Smart jeans and polo shirts are fine.

And you won't queue long to be served at the bar or get halftime snacks. Tea and coffe are free in The Legends and are served the other side of the room from the bar.

Big screen TV means Soccer Saturday at halftime but also means that if you want to watch the game in the Legends lounge you can,

The bar is open throughout.

Sometimes that is very tempting especially if we've played badly in the first half.

Just do it.

Worth every penny

i sit in legends, well worth the extra , free program, tea & coffee, decent ( ish ) food if you want it, sitting down at a table , with decent toilets, sky sports, decent bar etc. Stands was great when i was younger, but the older i like the nicer option :) i also have four passes so get a free parking spot in car park A too

I take two kids, it costs me 100 each a season for their tickets.

ps - only downside was that , due to the club going bust & unable ot get a credit license, you had to pay for the whole amount upfront !!! that was a large chunk to pay out in one go. But i see this year they are offering installments for general season tickets, through a 3rd party credit agency... hopefully its the same for corporate!

Thanks for all the advice boys.
Everybody is talking about legends which sounds like my sort of level.
What are the other options?
Is the Jag lounge a bit posh?
I'm not talking exec boxes either, not unless the lottery comes up at the weekend!!

Is that a pro or a con?

Sounds quite good actually, might have a look at that myself. Which blocks are the seats, the middle of the main stand?

Most certainly a pro!

They're the second block to the left of the dugouts (as you look from the stand opposite).

For those of us getting a little older it's great value - if only to warm up at half time in January!

If you want to go in the Legends lounge you need to get a member to get your seat if you only want to buy the odd one. I get them for Hucks on here and it's a great day out. Esp when it's fooking freezing and the game is Shyte!
Top tip get your grub from the concourse if you want just a pie etc as it's cheaper . You can stay drinking afterwards till 5.30 to miss the traffic.

Quite fancy this for bringing the eldest up one game next season... to be honest if I had the cash I'd be seriously tempted to do this fairly regularly.

Is the dickhead quota lower in the posh seats? No matter where I'm sat I either end up with someone who constantly shouts forward or someone who is giving a running commentary.

Sorry chief, but every time I move you seem to end up sitting next to me. "Oi. Cole. You're crap. LAUNCH IIIITTTT!!" :)

Legends Lounge has always reminded me of a WMC, but without the attractive beer prices. (Even the casino is cheaper...). But it's a nice haven during those winter half-times. And you get those nice padded seats, with a good view of the pitch. Price is 540 which is about a tenner per match more than the premium seating in the East Stand.

Thanks for the details TOM88, looks good value for money.
There are 4 of us so looks like the car space will be a bonus.
I'm still confused on the difference between the Club Coventry membership and the Legends membership apart from the £100 of course.
Is the Club Coventry the old Jaguar lounge, is it posher for the money and is there a dress code?

The more expensive one has the after match stuff and 'better' (i.e.: nearer the halfway line) seats.

Think these are the two lounges:

Hi Mate,

i got a club coventry season ticket this season its basically the next step up from the legends lounge membership. With the club coventry you get a free programme, bar service, they have food on but you can upgrade to a 3 course meal if you like. You also get the early kick off on a big screen while you enjoy a drink and your food. You then can go out to the game with a very good view and padded seats. Think the difference between legends lounge and club coventry is Legends lounge tickets are like pitchside and club coventry is a lot further up with a better view of the game. Plus ive been in the legends lounge and the club coventry or level one lounge is a lot bigger and less cramped with people.

only bad thing i experienced this season was sometimes they give you a plastic cup when you ask for pint even though their managers have told them to use glasses. Also the food can sometimes be cold and the service can be poor.

Im currently debating whether to renew in the level one lounge or go back to block 20 where i used to sit, is it really worth the extra 300 pound is up to you. The level one lounge membership is £660 so im told next season (earlybird price)

Also i saw someone ask about the credit option, with corporate tickets you will have to ring cov up, let them know what membership you want and book your ticket. They then reserve your ticket but you have to contact the finance company (zebra) yourself and set up the direct debit. Once cleared Cov will then book your season ticket.

Im told however for normal season tickets the finance will be set up for you by cov if you select the finance option
