According to the CT now 22,700 sold with the record standing at 24,000 for a home game (Leicester Tigers Welford Road) so with a week and half to go it seems likely that they will set a new home record.

Edit to say Aviva Premiership home record...does not include games played at Twickenham or other neutral venues.

Well this was sadly inevitable but lets see how many people go to the next game and the one after that. Lets hope they fall dead on their feet........

Probably because they've given so many FREE ones away!

I am really suprised to be honest by the level of support. I know four lads 2 ex season ticket holders from years and years ago and 2 never been football interested who have brought half season tickets

cue Nick with an "invisible PR machine comment".

Am i the only one who has no interest whatsoever in how many people watch a game of rugby at the Rioch. How come we dont have loads of threads about the attendance for the Leicester Under 21's games ?

And yet if they had only sold 2000 tickets people would be (and will be if it happens in the future) jizzing all over thier keyboards

Nope, to be fair they are doing exactly what SISU should be doing at a bare minimum. Just don't see why they need to bullshit about it. :)

I wish them well i hope they sell out. Its kinda misleading to be honest if a large proportion are freebies then its a hardly 22k sold.

But anyway good luck wasps. I dont wish them any ill feeling.

Im more concerned about CCFC.

The attendences are dropping and SISU dont seem to be doing anything to adress this.

I wish them well. We had the chance and blew it with brinkmanship which blew up in our faces.
Wasps have been no-mads for a while and now they have the chance of stability and possible long term success.
Those that don't want to go, just fine - let others live their lives..................

no its people backing this farce that are helping kill our club and the Cov Rugby club. They have no identity or connection to Coventry and yet people are happy to follow the piper to the Ricoh and fill their coffers but wont attend Cov home games. I think people can easily state that they love the football club but harder to back it up eh?

How many have actually been sold as opposed to just given away?

in lies the problem, people are switching (i am amazed at how many Rugby experts are out there all of a sudden). I would just prefer that they go and support Cov rugby club instead if they have taken a sudden interest in the sport.

well 3500 were given away free to schools and junior rugby clubs and then there are the exisiting season ticket holders which I think is about 1500-2000 so on that basis and lets give it a bit of breathing room over 15,000 have been purchased as one off tickets for that game.

OK so still a fair way off the number CCFC sold for Gillingham with much worse PR, no council publicity and months' less notice.

Because people don't have to pay to get in? Jesus wept.

nope they dont pay to get in.....

but they pay to get there...
They pay to buy food which goes to Wasps...
They pay to buy drink, which goes to wasps...
They pay for parking, which goes to Wasps....
They might buy merchandise, which goes to wasps...
They experience a full ricoh, which they may get the bug and want to pay and go again...

Whatever way you look at it, even if tickets are "free", people still invest time and money into going, and the majority would also be putting money in Wasps pockets.

I dont get why you are concerned if a rugby club makes £3 million on that day, or £1 million ?

I did notice that the CT has not made any reference to CCFC this time so least they have learnt from the last article.

People should concentrate on getting CCFC up rather than getting Wasps down to ours.
It's a typical British attitude to bring people down to your level rather than strive to get to their level.
Correct! Bring them down to your level then beat them with your experience!

... people seem to be hoping that Wasps fail so Sisu can continue their attempt to get the stadium freehold.
We can continue with years on the downward spiral or start to ride on the back of a successful Ricoh.

What do you think Sisu ?

Try and learn there's a difference between PR and marketing. Please. Just do

I am fully aware of the difference between PR and Marketing?

PR is public relations. That is happening with members who have signed up on this forum, that is how they work with the media and news (ie getting the bits about the pitch all over the news).

Both should be as standard in any business.CCFC have neither.

Fair play to them. Its their business and their job to make a success of it. They have bet the farm on the move.

The comparison to the Gillingham game does not hold water given that those making the point just point to the evil franchise, if anything it shows there is a need desire for successful sport in our city.

The Gills game was our triumphant home coming and showed that CCFC would be the biggest sporting Draw for supporters in the area given a team and some good owners. The comparison should be with our first game in Northampton.

But the facts suggest that that they have taken cash for close double our last home attendance again shines a light on SISU and what they have achieved.

I'm off to Blackheath in London on Saturday to watch the genuine rugby side in Coventry thanks ! 11 wins on the bounce please !

Bunch of bandwagoners, probably first time they've been to the Ricoh since the Gillingham match, won't last. If we win tonight they will all be at the JPT area final as well.
