Can anyone explain the difference between DCHP and STATIC DEfualt seems to be DCHP?

DHCP is where the router or something else gives out an IP Address from a subset list as defined by a database - normally set up by an IT Administrator

Static is where you tell the device what IP Address to use.

Most people will use DHCP as giving a device a static address increases the probability of duplicate IP Addresses which will cause networking issues

Thank you bud!! So static would be preferable to use with VPN?

Not necessarily. If you are 100% sure the IP address will not be used on another device feel free. However, VPNs can be used to show you're in a different place or to hide your real IP address. Normally the VPN software will give an address to obscure where you are and your local IP address. The machine that's running the VPN is on your side of a secure network so can be DHCP
