£10m is a lot of money for our level. If they paid £10m for him and loaned him back for a season or two and TM was aloud 20-40% of that to rebuild a team then that would be a great deal and must be considered.

If we were to sell him for £10m & If Wilson has a good season and is sold by Bournemouth then that could be a financial turning point for us.

He has potential to be a top player and that is what the big boys buy, potential, they can afford to gamble looking for the next Rooney. Arsenal did it successfully with Theo Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey but flopped with Francis Jeffers. The going rate is about £10million. If Tony Mowbray and Mark Venus were given the bulk of a big fee to invest in the squad selling would be tempting I can't see our owners doing that I seriously doubt much more than 10% would be allowed, also if his career really took off say in the championship his value would multiply so a delemma for our owner.

A question do transfer fees count as earnings so allowing us to spend more ?

Yes. It would be madness not too. No guarantee at all he'll be worth more in two years time. Many, many players don't progress as hoped for many reasons. If we can get him back on loan too then even better still.

Think it would be crazy to turn down an offer of 10m. It will not be that much though anyway.

Basically, yes. Ask for a chunk up front, add loan back clauses and sell-on fees.

It's crucial this deal is done correctly, for us and for Madders.

I doubt we'll get £10mil, that's daft money, if we got £5mil I'd still say yes because it contributes a lot of stability to next season. Plus, if we loan Madders back, win/win situation.

You ask 'will it replace him?' But you have to remember the lad has only made 16 appearances for us. It's not like he's been the cornerstone of our side for some time is it.

He's a talented kid, but one we haven't seen enough of. Someone comes in with a good offer and offers to loan him back, then it would be bad business to turn that down.

With the money in the PL, why not this amount. Chambers (a full back) £16m from Southampton, Fulham paid £12m for McCormack, Forest £5m for Assombolonga. Money knocking about has increased enormously since those latter transfers. You don't ask, you don't get. Sell high, buy low. By the way - I want to keep him , Get the benefit on the pitch (he has a while left on his contract), and his value should continue to increase, barring major injury.

The lad needs to play football not sit in an U21 side, if he goes to another club, there needs to be a loan back agreement, but he will end up loaned to a championship side, so no promotion this season = last we ever see of him playing for City.

I guess it's wishful thinking to hope for a large up-front fee, loan-back clauses etc, but despite everyone acknowledging that his development would be hampered by languishing in a top flight reserves team, doesn't mean it won't happen.

Personally, there's no better training and development program than playing matches and evolving via a game environment. If Madders does leave, I hope it's for a £5mil-ish fee, with a loan-back clause for at least 18 months. Whether it transpires that way, I don't know.

I just hope SISU don't flap and accept the first bid on the table, like you highlighted. We'd easily start a bidding war if the board are patient.

After all we were too quick selling callum Wilson to the first buyer to come along. I believe should have gone for at least double the amount we got.

Otis I feel old when I see him play as I played in the same team as his dad at around 18.

To answer the question anything above 5 million is good money at this stage but he should avoid Arsenal they have too many like him already, he should look at Spurs or even somewhere like Stoke.
