Back to being the biggest club in Coventry? (33 Viewers)

What do you estimate that to be for the 12-15k stadium that sources close to LR have suggested the capacity of our new stadium will be?

Oh dear. You and Italia really are made for each other.

Let's try again. Is 365 f and b revenues essential for a clubs success or not. You see this is a problem isn't it. Wasps say it's the only reason they wanted to own a stadium management company and their average paying attendance is nowhere near 15,000

So rather than bullshit answer - is pie money needed or not? Can we survive on 23 days - yes or no?

Apparently it is essential for the survival of the richest rugby club in Europe. Yet the bellends dismiss it as 'pie money' when it comes to our football club.

I would say a bell end is someone who makes a statement without having the facts. Blindly following the statements of the forum dullards.

No one is saying we don't need these incomes but IMHO building a small out of town stadium is not a cost effective way of getting them.
Our owners have messed up the only real chance we had of getting those incomes by buying into the Ricoh and in retrospect it would have been cheaper to return the Higgs money for their share. It would have split the risk with CCC until we could afford 100%.

Yes, lets do try again. What's it worth?

You real are a fool if you make a decision but don't know all the costs to get those incomes.
How much will it cost to build a stadium and run it ? What additional income will it generate ?
What are the profits the investment generated ? How does that compare to staying at the Ricoh?
Or are you saying that Sisu have said it is better and you have accepted it ?

Similarly you could survive without them if your outgoings are minimal.

....... insults awaited in leiu of facts !!

You can't answer the questions then ?

I asked the question. It was Wee Little Jimmy who answered with another question.

Carry on. The pair if you are the biggest tools on here. Everyone is laughing at you.

So what's it worth? You can't decide if its substantial unless you know what "it" actually is. Pretty simple really. I actually feel a little embarrassed having to explain that to a big shot like yourself but clearly that's where we are.

Why don't you ask italia. He was the one who said it didn't matter if Wasps ticket revenues drop as they get the other revenues.

Whatever wasps get we won't be getting anywhere near that. No hotel rent, no casino rent, no exhibition hall income, no where near the same car park revenue (if any at all), no arena concert income just of the top of my head. So it's not really an example to make a comparison to is it.

I didn't say it didn't matter. Why make it up ?
I said that ticket sales are not so important as they have other incomes.

Before Grendel winds you up and sets you going, I also didn't say we don't require those other incomes.

What rent do they get from the hotel and casino?

I said that ticket sales are not so important as they have other incomes.

The subject being discussed was Wasps low attendances and reduction in ticket prices leading to a reduction in ticket revenue to which your comment was:

Ticket sales only part of it though.
One of the advantages of getting all the match day incomes.
Rugby has the advantage of having the outlets open all the time as well.

That would imply those incomes do matter.

How can anybody defend Wasps, even objectively they shouldn't be here. They are a London team in a country where sports teams are pillars of community and not franchises. SISU are shitbags and CCC and shitbags but whoever's 'side' you're on a London rugby team should be playing in a Coventry football stadium.

Doesn't it illicit an emotional response seeing the statue of Jimmy with Wasps badges behind it, walking past the wall with names of fans that paid money to have their name on their football club's stadium. We have a memorial garden for people who had their ashes scattered at Highfield Road because they wanted to be close to their football team. The Ricoh is our stadium, no matter what the ownership and no matter who fucked up us not owning it.

Until Wasps leave out of there own choice I wish them all the ill in the world. As a general rule I wouldn't wish anybody's team to go under but if they went bust it would be a joyous day in my house.

What ever income they get from them it will be more than what we'll get from the hotel and casino we won't have.

Or exhibition hall we won't have, or car parking we won't have, or arena concerts we won't have.

Whatever SISU plan to build it won't have the 365 day income that the Ricoh offers. In fact I'd doubt it would have something happening 365 days of the year.

Nobody is defending Wasps. They saw an opportunity to improve themselves and grabbed it.
It gave CCC an opportunity to get out a stranglehold that Sisu had created.

We rented off ACL and now we rent off Wasps.
We were never going to own it since the previous regime miscalculated.
All the items that made it our stadium then, are still there now.
Just look at is as if Wasps have put a few badges up where we didn't want to.
Enjoy the football and Wasps can use it when we don't need it.

But we rented from CCC/Higgs with an option to buy back, it was sold as a temporary measure to ensure the ground was built and we didn't go bust in the process. The whole concept was that when we were financial secure again we could buy, at least a steak in, the stadium. Because our owners and the council cant act like adults that stadium is now 100% owned by an out of town rugby club who have a 200 year lease and no intention of selling, that is bad for our club.

As we all suspect the new stadium isn't going to be built so it really is Ricoh or bust, when I say bust it might not actually be going out of business, but never being able to compete at the level we all want due to the financial restrictions being tenants places upon us. We need stadium ownership to compete at any meaningful level. As has been reported, this move is all or bust for Wasps too, that puts them into direct competition with our club.

Coventry City Football Club is important to me and to many other people, some more so, some less so but I'm sure we all want what's best for it. That, to me, means opposing Wasps' ownership at every opportunity and if that, pettily, means taking glee in their falling attendances and making their fans feel unwelcome so be it. Wasps I have no problem with, if they moved back to London tomorrow then I would never think of them again. However Wasps in Coventry is bad for CCFC and that means I do have a problem with them and I believe as our attendances are rising and more people are feeling connected to their football club again the negative sentiments are only going to grow.

Nobody is defending Wasps?! You help fund them!!!! Provide a car park for them, money before morals clearly! You really are something else! SISU lover to SISU hater. Do you just have a thing for hedge funds? When the next one strolls into town will you ditch Wasps?

So how do I defend them?
I've realised they are going nowhere so I have learned to live with them.

I could learn to live with Sisu again if they continue to do things right and get us back where we were when they came.
Oh yea and sack Tim Fisher.

If they fund us into the PL I could learn to love them !!

You have a season ticket for them do you not? You criticised those who went to sixfields? You stated Northampton locals should not attend? Blinding hypocrisy. I don't expect you to see it. Everyone else does though.

I have a season ticket.
I never criticised people who went to Sixfields be it CCFC fans or locals.
I did say that anyone who went should be aware they are supporting Sisu plan to get the Ricoh which is different.

Do you not see any contradiction in the last sentence?

You do know that you are supporting a Hedge fund to keep the Ricoh?

Is the sisu plan any different or worse than that of wasps? They used the fallout and a club being ripped from their community to rip another club from their community. Yet you support that and buy the we had no choice line. Yet firmly believe sisu had a choice even though the council quoted ridiculous amounts to purchase income rights. They also came out with quotes such as hell will freeze over before we sell to sisu. If sisu were wrong then so are wasps. Therefore to now support them is the definition of hypocrisy. I await your sidekick wading in to defend you and wasps. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Don't know SBT176 but on this forum he shines.
Nice to see someone talking sense instead of slagging off anybody who puts substance into debate.

Substance as in false statements?

Without going into it, you did criticise people and the locals who went. You always "liked / agreed" some pretty hardcore posts against people who went too.

Still, not as bad as the user who went mental about free tickets at Sixfields for locals and is then asking about freebies for Wasps.

I've read your post and although it's nothing new I've taken all your points on board, digested them and realise I could not give a toss what you think !!

What you should really do is just enjoy the football and hope we get on the radar. Just after you have finished a protest about people eating meat and tucking into your steak.
