Thorn has to go (1 Viewer)

I'm sorry ... Regardless of sisu, Thorn has lost it as a manager.

You cannot lose 4-2 at home to anyone regardless.

He has no tactical knowledge.

Sorry Thorny. You don't have my support anymore.

I disagree, i agree his managerial skills aren't brilliant, but thats what you will get with an inexperienced manager. Not many managers could do as well as Thorn is doing, it was a spirited second half and we did well to come from 2 down to 2-2. Disappointing to have lost in the end, but we've lost to the best team in the league and given them a decent run for there money.

And while we're at it, Ferguson should do one at Utd as well - 6-1 at home to Man City... disgraceful

losing 4-2 at home is not the point and is also unfair on the second half performance. I think 2 of their goals have been from denfensive errors so as usual that is a big problem at an indiviidual level, not a team level. The real problem is that there is no support from the board, do you really think there is another manager who can do any better with the same lack of support?

We don't have world beaters but a more experienced manager would have ground out some better results than what we have this season.

No point being spirited for 25mins.

Thorn lost us the game in the first half with the wrong formation.

We have no creativity or pace for a diamond to work.

We can't go on playing well for half a game, could have gone in at half-time 0-5 yet may have won the second . Same evey match but who's fault is it the manager or the players, or a bit of both

I do believe a more experienced manager even if they had 2/3 years in L2 would be more tactically astute.

I'm not basing this on just today. Time and time again it is the same crap.

Good luck Thorn in finding that experienced player who will make us better.

Fecking donny bought el hadj diouf. Dirty git of a player but he went and destroyed Ipswich today.

We can't even compete with donny on wages.

No you're right, let's do the usual, typical football fan thing and call for the managers head and then geet a new man in who won't be able to save us and will then leave at the end of the season, then the next man in will have a disappointing start to next season and the fans will get on his back too - and repeat this sentence over and over

We're absolute dog shit and need a massive shake up now not in four months time when it'll be too late.

It's bigger than the manager. We finished the game today with 3 right backs and Nathan Cameron at the back, McSheffrey (who is supposed I be a City fan) strolling around like we were 4-0 up and David Bell.

The sad thing is that was probably our strongest team.

We have the poorest manager in this league and the table reflects that.

The only hope is to play the youth team now. Last week he was saying some off the senior figures in the team were not listening to him. Is that because he has lost the dressing room?

Gotta say I thought Sheff did well today and Bell wasn't bad. As for Thorn, I'm saddened to say I agree. Changing it when we're 2-0 down is pointless and our goals came from mistakes - good finishes mind.

I am literally speechless that you think Sheffers was OK today. He had a spell just after we scored but to stroll around like he did an leave a kid exposed at fullback all game was disgusting. Withdraw his contract offer and tell him to fuck off to Nuneaton with the rest of the players from his academy years.

He made more tackles in midfield today than our other player I thought. He looked fairly lively on the attack too - there were some good through balls which he ran onto.

I think Thorn did as much as he could with his resources to get us back in the game. He switched to a 442, tore into players, gave Deegan the hook, and brought it back to 2-2. No complaints at the manager from me. AFC your points completely ignore the reality of the situation. "The only hope now is to play the youth team" just about says it all! And Macca, yes, I do think he's our best manager since relegation, at least 2nd best after Black. He's just had nothing to work with.

How do you expect a side that finished 18th to cope with having its best 4 players ripped out of it and not adequately replaced? If you don't think King, Turner and Aron were any good, try watching some highlights of Cardiff and Birmingham some time.

There's only one direction my ire will be heading in, and that is at SISU and the board. They are killing our club through under-funding. I've been expecting relegation since August, now I am utterly resigned to it.

Ha, Saints fan on 606 just said we got "two lucky goals" and slagged us off for booing us off at half-time-says they always backed their side, even when they were going down!

I'm afraid I find myself torn on this one. Yes, Thorn was the cheap option but then so was Sillitt/Curtis and look what happened there. Thorn clearly has no experience of Management and is learning as he goes along and does not seem to be doing a bad job given his resources. On balance I would keep him at the club in a scouting capacity but bring in an experienced Manager but would Sisu fund that? I think not.

it doesn't matter if the fucking manager was mickie mouse himself, sacking the manager will only pospone getting rid of sisu scum, when are some cov fans going to learn that killing the message boy does not work, we need to get rid of sisu NOW...

Think we all agree there mate but, the simple fact of the matter is, that they are not going to go before recouping some money. The question is, how do they do that? Is it asset striping prior to sale or on sale itself? The current indications are on the former; in which case it is going to be some time before we see the back of them!

They are more stubborn than a mule, I fear we've a long way to go before we bottom out! They've had a pretty easy ride so far I think...

In similar circumstances , I would have been first in line. calling for the managers head, But who is out there! that would be able to fashion miracles, from a squad of talented, but inexperienced kids, We've had the Colemans, the Boothroyds, the Adams's and the Dowie's, all to the same end,..Failure and pretty awful football to go with it.
As green and naive as he is, Thorn has tried to bring a little pleasure in watching the Sky Blues, playing the game as it should be played, I have nightmares every night that Coleman returns, to brain wash us with that catatonic, ultra negative Rubish.
Thorn isn't perfect, but is working with untempered tools, as Sisu force him to fill our shop window, with some of our up and coming stars in preparation for the January sales.
Yes I am aware! that its a results game, and Thorn isn't getting them, but don,t you feel he,s being used as some sort of patsy, by Sisu, who will surely cut him loose, sometime in the near future, as they play the"Blame game" Its a pity we cant lay the "blame game" on the rightful culprits, the "mighty unconcerned Sisu" who really don't give a Toss, which league we play in.
In any outcome, "Thanks for trying Andy"

You must have been watching a game 8 years ago mate - he was useless.

I see the same old point being made yet again. So we lost our four best players after finishing 18th? We only finished as high as 18th after Thorn took over.

Yes, we would have gone down without Thorn IMO.

It is always quoted as 4 best players but Turner never played (and Wood is OK anyway) for Thorn, Westwood conceded more goals per game than Murphy and correct me if I am wrong but Gunnarson was highly criticised last season. So actually King is the difference as he was a class apart - and why did he sign for us? - Boothroyd. He may have stayed if he was still manager - he was never going to stay once Thorn was appointed.
