The bit about whether he'd use Burton tactics and he says it's not the way he plays and he doesn't see it the style to get you out of leagues.

Now, I must commend TM on where we are this season as I'd have bitten a hand off at the beginning to be 5th after 28 games but this is a strange comment. Burton are highly likely to get out of this league so I'm not sure why he said that.

I get that he wants to play attacking football and that's been great when we've been winning. But when we're not...

Anyway, I do concede that we've been very unlucky with injuries which have played a big part...just thought that was a very strange comment to make.

It is an odd thing to say about a team likely to finish above us.

A bit dismissive of Burton, they were a defensive team but were hardly a long ball team in the Pulis mould. No shame in being defensively solid and hard to breakdown.

Burton probably will finish above us and be promoted. But I think TM has his beliefs of how the game should be played so to him Burton will be the exception to the norm. If he changed his beliefs every time something contradicted them his beliefs would be worthless

Bit of an odd comment. Burton aren't even that negative and aren't a long ball team either.

Maybe phrased poorly, but in a general sense would always rather have a manager who thinks attacking.

At least even when we lose, you've got more chance of having seen a half decent game with a few bits of excitement.

We've not even been that exciting or attacking over the last 9-10 games tho.

Winning ultimately is all that matters.

Depends to what level of winning.

I'd take an Arsene Wenger Arsenal as now ahead of a George Graham title winning Arsenal.

Wouldn't take an Ossie Ardiles Spurs though.

If we miss out on promotion I think it will be because of our defensive struggles not TM. You could say Reda was to be expected but to loose Willis, Martin and Turner as well as newcomers like Lorentszon is extremely unlucky. I hope he carries on playing the exciting attacking football he's known for. I did think that this season was our only hope but next year, even without Arma Murph and Maddison, we should do well. If we finish the season well but just miss out we can expect to see more season tickets sold meaning Mowbray will have more money to spend on shaping the squad.

I've been a bit down about us for the past few weeks but to be saying that while being 5th and 6 points away from 2nd at the end of January shows the good work TM has done.

I believe that second bit has been a problem. People would rather see Ryan Kent do a few step overs and then kick the ball out for a throw for the sake of entertainment than grafting and scoring important goals when we need them.

We've outplayed teams this season and not come out with the full points. Sometimes you have to play nitty gritty to win games.

Ask an arsenal fan if they'd like to have won 5 titles in the last decade the Graham way or be permanent bridesmaids playing the Wenger way.

Poor defending, inconsistency and weak midfield strength isn't good football.

No one will thank Mowbray if we miss out by playing good football. Good football is winning football.

Spot on (for once )

We do need to take a bit of what Burton do and add it to what we have not conceding stupid fucking goals would be a good start.

Never mind Burton. Didn't he also say we're looking at a couple of players ahead of the window shutting and MV is working hard to make it happen?

Surely far more important than anything he said about Burton.

The pendulum is slowly but surely swinging it's way to negativity. This is nothing yet.

Swinging or being pushed by some posters on here?

Both. And not necessarily just on here. We have been poor lately, but I've still got my positive slacks on so like you I'll be focusing on the two signings for now.

How long until Mowbray goes from "refreshing, says it like it is" to "talks shite"
3 more weeks of poor results?

Yep. TM is going to be totally ripped apart on here and there will be a stack of Mowbray out threads and posts.

Just look at it now with quite a bit of unease and we're 5th.

Going to get very nasty unless we turn our form round for sure.

If that, some have started already. Unless we find some good form again then he'll be the dogs dangly bits again until we have another dip in form.

He has plenty of credit left in the bank but for someone who likes developing players the change in strategy of signing 30 something players who are in decline and wasting a loan on a player who has zero worth to the team are clearly concerns.

If he doesn't achieve a top 6 finish given the position we were in 10 games ago you would seriously then question if we retain him next season.

"Believe it when I see it" - A response to us getting two new players in.
"Normal service resumed" - After we lost two in a row.
"Typical city"
"Always happens to us"
"Never perform when there's a big gate" (Lost at home once all season)

Some fuckers absolutely love it. It's the reason why I've not been on here much lately, which I'm sure some of you are pleased about.

our decline from the Gillingham game to where we are now is certainly alarming but what really concerns me do any of us including the manager know what our best team is, spoke about this at work the other day and out of the five us none had the same. We all had Ricketts, Stokes, Vincelot, Fleck and Armstrong after that there was a mish mash of players and systems

Or we could look at where we were when he took over and congratulate him for moving the team forward so much in such as short space of time and look forward to making the same leaps forward over the next season.

The club was a basket case when he took over. Some people have short memories.
