Think people are far too busy still trying to get over the Astute/Samo spat to bother about any news on the Maddison side issue.

I'm sure there are more traumatic spats than that one! :D

Press often jump the gun.

More likely bids being prepared to go in.
Or someone is driving this be It clubs hoping to take him,his agent or our owners.
The media are feeding off something or TM is playing a canny game.

If it's going to happen. It needs to be now. Not the last day. So TM knows where he stands player wise and finance wise.

The Maddison hype is quite amazing. Yes he is a talented kid but in my opinion he isn't even in the same category as Dele Alli. They are the same age and Dele is international class already.

Maddison hasn't played the amount of league games Deli has or proved his physicality.

Deli played nearly 70+ 1st team games for MK Dons before he put a shirt on for Spurs.

Madderz has only played 20+ 1st team games and a lot of them as a bench player.

Is he ready for a move now even with the rest of the season loaned back...no.

He is yet to complete a full season as a pro footballer.

In all honesty you could argue take £5m based on 20 odd appearances.

But is it right for Madderz as a player? Maybe...maybe not.

But ultimately we know football is all about money.

The reason that clubs want him is to stop other clubs getting him.
Everyone knows he is not ready.
They just want to own someone who is not ready instead of some other club owning someone who is not ready.
They see him as an investment for the future.

Couldn't agree with you more. The build up has been overcooked as far as current ability stands compared to Delli Alli.

That's not to say he's not a great player with plenty of potential but he's yet unproven in the long term, I agree, and needs a good full season under his belt. A season with Coventry in the Championship next year would be a good start!

However, football is a business these days, that's the biggest predetermining factor. If I am the businessman and someone offers me £5million for a player who has had a couple of injuries, only played so many games and may or may not become a bigger star, may or may not make it in the higher leagues yet.. It would be very difficult not to take it.

If he doesn't start tomorrow, he's most likely off IMO, as a slight injury scuppers the whole deal with it being so close to the end of the transfer window.

He's definitely being mollycoddled, but I'm not sure it's because of his recent injury,or protecting an asset soon to be cashed.

Spurs just signing Moussa Dembele from Fulham and likely to loan him back, much as they did with Dele Ali. I don't reckon he'll be going to Spurs in the next 48 hours.

Not sure if it's already been posted but there's a picture of Maddison kneeling down near the centre circle on his own about 2 or 3 mins after full time. Thinking about what's going wrong or he knows he's off?

Conspiracy whopper. He's not at the level of the other players you've mentioned, probably just disappointed and reflecting on another poor result.
