I can easily see this being true. I can also see people not being totally 'innocent' but still not enough to warrant what the police have allegedly done. This is exactly why I'd be avoiding boozers in and around the ground and boozers with a reputation in town when a 'tasty' team turn up. Not worth the hassle.

By not being totally innocent I mean not doing exactly what the aggressive police tell you to do. If I had a beer in me I could easily see myself telling them to do one. Then they've got their reason to pile in that they've been waiting for and there we go. Not worth it, so I avoid it.

Looks like I'm a shirter.

By all accounts you've always got a beer in you !

I'm sure there's dodgy policemen and I'm sure there's football fans who get attacked for no reason by other teams supporters.

However I've been going to games, home and away, since 86 and have never had the slightest bit of trouble with other teams fans, stewards or police. In light of that I find it strange that there's a handful on here who seem to regularly get attacked when they are doing nothing to provoke.

That sound like it could be the Foleshill Gas Club they're talking about. If it is Millwall fans were chucking rocks through the window so it shouldn't really come as a huge surprise to them that people came out to have a go at them.
The 'Wall' slant though will be that they were 'skimming stones!'

Take off the dog collar and lose the Labrador and then see if you have the same luck!!

You can only hide behind things for so long, Dave.

You want to be a Cov fan living in Leicestershire, I've had punch ups with the bastards going back 30 years, including a massive brawl in Hinckley the night we won the cup ! Also seen stacks of trouble back in the 80's and 90's, mainly in the West Mids. It's nothing these days compared to the bad old days.

Reading their forum had me chuckling.

What a bunch of childish wankers they really are. Grown men ffs.

I'm sure their tales will be twice as tall tomorrow.

Yep!

They will have escaped from the nasty giants by climbing down the beanstalk and will have ridden off into the night on the back of a golden goose egg.

I can confirm that the road outside the WHEATSHEAF was closed due to trouble, I could see from new inn bridge.

Yep, was caught up in the middle of it before making an exit sharpish.

About 50 odd Millwall fans were launching bottles and cans at 4 Cov fans outside the RAOB club. The Millwall lot chased them into the pub before riot police came running down.

That's odd, some "Wall" henchman on their forum claimed they don't do that.

My issue with it all is that despite the claims of the noble hooligan about rules of engagement my experience is this. If numbers are equal rarely does anything happen but posturing and noise. Its only when a numerical advantage occurs that people get stuck in to the opportunity of handing out a kicking with little risk. Thats not being a hard man its being a violent fucker. There is a distinct difference.

Judging by the comments on the Millwall forum, I think you've got that the wrong way around.

Incredible story and incredibly naive of the police officers entering a pub with cctv and attacking innocent members of the public randomly. Look forward to how this develops as never seen this happen before

It happens all the the time. A police force with its hands strapped more and more by political agenda cuts. Officers who are frustrated by not been able to help the victims they joined the police to help. Go to the pubs and beat up innocent harmless people
It's so common it won't make the news.

So the police all around the country are regularly going into pubs and attacking random innocent people who are just having a quiet drink but it never makes the news?

Yes but you have to wait to hear about it on here
They are good people normally and do a shit job for shit money. However every now and then they can turn nasty and beat up innocent people who don't provoke it at all

A couple of weeks ago it was about being no police attacks on the public. Then the news breaks that one of our own supporters gets damages for being attacked by an officer. This only occurred because another officer reported it. And the officer kept his job.

As I said before it is too much of a big comment to make to say that it doesn't happen. And you making out that some are saying that it happens everywhere all the time is either missing the point or saying whatever you want to try and make those that have witnessed such attacks look wrong. Or are you just trying to save face after saying attacks don't happen before one hits the news?

I think we are saying that it is a pretty amazing story and a different level, certainly bigger than the single fan being attacked. This is according to the poster police en masse attacking a pub. Batons drawn on numerous people doing nothing more than having a pint. Multiple complaints should be made and mobile phone videos sent in. Given the fact that people record themselves having a piss these days there should be plenty. As I said never seen anything on this level before people there need to come forward.
