For me the team all day long! The amount of money it would cost to build or expand on the butts would be better spent on a building a promotion winning team surely?

Jon Sharp hinted that student accommodation could be a big part of the equation. He also said that he would like to see a retail offering on the site.
Money from those developments could help finance a significant proportion of any ground expansion.
Financial contributions from the rugby club and CCFC are also likely to be needed.
It’s possible other partners and sponsors might look to get involved along the way.

I would take mediocrity for a few years if it secures our long term future. We've been told by independent experts that staying at the Ricoh as tenants will put us, at best, towards the bottom of the championship. If this plan means the future is better than that then yes I would wait for it.

Remember Anderson has also said he is speaking to Wasps about various things that the club would need to enable them to stay at the Ricoh. Its not that its the move to the Butts or nothing, its one of the options under consideration.

You also have to realise that the money for the stadium isn't sat around available to TM if we decide to stay at the Ricoh.

I would imagine that any money needed to fund a stadium development would come from a different source than that for investment in the team. If so, that means that potential stadium funds would not have been available to invest in the team. It also means that any funds earmarked for the team could still be available for the team, so it isn't necessarily an "either one or the other" situation.

At the moment no brainer with league we are in get our own ground and build ahead of players.
We have no long term future at Ricoh now and need to generate more cash independently.
