Will Fleck Stay? (6 Viewers)

curious as to everyone's opinions. Who reckons Fleck will stay? I had a niggling feeling he'd have one more season with us and see how we got on but after reading Ricketts and Tudgay are due to re-sign with no mention of Fleck I'm not so sure,

What does everyone else think? Also does everybody think he's integral to our season next season or will somebody like Rose or Gadzhev fill his place?

Mowbray virtually stated that he was our most important player last season but I think the recent signings indicate a different approach for next season. I don't think we will be a possession-based team so losing Fleck becomes less of a problem. I think busier more industrious midfielders with the ability to counter I.e rose will probably be the route he goes down.

I am surprised with his goal scoring that he was not snapped up earlier, what's even more surprising is that we've managed to keep him for 4 seasons despite being the best midfielder that the club has had in decades, all other players with such great potential recently we've offloaded such as Ctrus, Callum & Madders - maybe just maybe he's not that good

Where are the Championship sides who were eagerly waiting for him.

I think he is probably weighing up his options. Just because he hasn't signed for a club yet doesn't necessarily mean that clubs aren't contacting him/his agent. It's obviously a huge decision where he ends up next because he'll want to make sure that the team he chooses is one where he'll shine and move forward. He's 24 now so this is the time for his career to get going. Scotland could be a temptation for him but he's a player that will want to perform at the highest level he can and a call from the Championship will be too hard to resist for him in my opinion. If Hull were looking at him I'm sure others were too

I won't be sorry to see him go. Too hit and miss and if we want to play one touch football and have a bit of pace about us then I don't think he's the man.

Hardly stand out in this league anyway, better midfielders for a Championship side to take a gamble on IMO. Add the fact of mass influx of players to the Premiership again this year, more and more quality is being forced down a division. I very much doubt Flecky will get a regular game in the Championship, such a strong league and getting stronger year by year.

You're naive if you think a transfer would have been completed already, transferring to a new football club can be a complicated matter and negotiations potentially can span over weeks and months. It's the 4th of July, may I remind you that the transfer window officially opened 3 days ago and his contract has only recently expired. If he has failed to secure a contract at a more established club then I actually will be surprised to be honest because he has proven himself and more at this level for the past 2 seasons. If you look at Mark Beevers who was considered one of Millwall's most valued assets for the last few seasons; he has only just completed his move to Bolton yesterday. Whilst not a Championship club they are a big club who have a greater appeal than Millwall. Nothing to say Fleck could follow suit and join another League One club, but I am merely saying that he does in fact have aspirations to play in the second tier of English football (which he has stated) and that clubs will have most likely enquired about him due to his availability with him being a free agent.

Wild inferences? There was a stack of people who had him gone in January. It didn't happen. Plenty of players have already signed for clubs he hasn't. If he was so hot, a team would have got the deal done already.

We're all entitled to our opinion and within football everyone's is different but to say that he is average is fairly far fetched. Don't forget that in January we were cemented in the top 6 with the potential to go on to fight for promotion, whilst no bids may have come through, inferring that because he did not leave in January means that clubs were clearly not as interested as people thought is ridiculous. Look at some of the teams that managed to hold onto their players in January last season; Gillingham: Bradley Dack, Walsall: Tom Bradshaw, Romain Sawyers, Southend: David Bentley. I'm sure 'stacks' of those clubs' fans mentioned believed their star players would leave in the January transfer window as well. If bids weren't made it doesn't necessarily mean that no clubs would've enquired about his availability because once again you don't know. You seem to think I believe Fleck to be the hottest prospect of league one. Yes I think he's a talent there's no denying that and I do believe he could and has attracted interest from Championship level but I am not saying by any means thats where he'll end up.
