Have I missed an academy update? (24 Viewers)

Spin is extreme, it's reasonable to question why he didn't attend.

Of course there may have been an entirely reasonable reason, and I'm sure they'll be arranging another meeting ASAP as a result, eh...
Ha, you have more faith than me if you believe that NW.

Stand by your beds - Reid has spoken.

Apparently raising the point that Anderson failed to attend the meeting re CCFC Academy is "silly spin" and what should have happen is all the information be put in writing for the attention of CCFC.

Eerrrmmmm......surely the meeting was to discuss the information and try to find a way forward with all the relevant parties present!

How f**king ridiculous, its CCFC who should put their reasons for failing to attend crucial meetings in writing.

Jan do you know who took the call from CA did he say why he couldn't attend.
Did he say the meeting is really important and ask for a reschedule?

Reid has offered clarification around his 'silly spin' comment -

Well when I say offered clarification, he's still trying to justify Anderson's lack of attendance at the meeting having pulled the plug at the eleven hour.

Ridiculous position from him and I tweeted to say so. He's @ me in the reply (@ukorca).

I also got someone who know me from on here tweet me to accuse me of being a Council or Wasps employee, or at least not a CCFC fan. Go and look at the tweets. Conspiracy theories make me laugh.

Yep, not sure who @Studio2Stereo is on here but he also accused me of being a 'Wasps fan' stating it was obvious from my posts here and on Twitter, but failed to demonstrate the basis of the claim - and then blocked me :joyful:

Why do the people who clearly aren't fans of Reid so closely monitor his output? If you don't like him and / or don't think he's a good reporter ignore him!

Because I think he comments and articles are hilarious.

Extraordinary claim that you are a wasps fan - I can't think what made him come to that conclusion.

Mainly because I prefer my journalism without any bias or agenda. I've a problem with what Les now reports as it's clear he's moved away from the NUJ code of conduct. He is now using a free paper to promote what I consider to be an agenda to negate SISU's failings by apportioning disproportionate blame to all other parties.

Who are they then?
I've no idea.
@covcity4life asked the question of you first.
I assume he doesn't like some people's point of view so instead of replying and reasoning his case, he's asked you to ban a whole group of people, although he's not been very clear about who. It was nearly a well constructed sentence, but I'm sure you'll work out who to ban.

So you avoid challenging CC4life requesting a ban but challenge Orca who responds to him? It's remains clear to me how it works on here.

It remains clear I just ignore him, the same as the fact I liked the BHSB post stating the fact yesterday ;)

His posts challenge himself, I think that is obvious to anybody that reads them. 99% of the time they don't really need comment to prove him wrong or show him up.

How does it work on here then? Go on, explain!

The way I see it is that Orca puts out a reasoned argument for things that are happening and a few on here don't like it preferring to pick up and run with the likes of Les Reids selective writing.

So people disagree with him on a forum, what is the problem?

As opposed to run with the likes of orcas selective posting?

He clearly hates wasps though - he says it all the time.

Grendel. I've no problem with you thinking whatever you want about me. I notice that you read my thread "Councillors" but didn't reply with your efforts. What have you done to try and protect the Academy I wonder?

I'm being selective at the moment with my language towards you, but other than that, I'll continue to post whatever I feel like. Also, you might have spotted that when I'm proven wrong, I apologise and thank the person who put me right. I expect you'll be unable to do likewise.

Whilst we await further news, I've found another email in the online planning portal regarding the Higgs site.

Seems pretty clear to me. Wasps are paying to move the pitch (as we've seen from the other comms), Wasps have offered 3 hours per day at normal commercial rates for the indoor facility. CCFC could hire CSF's facilities again and Paul Breed from CSF wants to have a chat about that. Should we start a new petition to force CA to talk to the other parties? That might have more of an impact that the other 'campaigns' we are seeing.

Nothing we didn't already know.

They won't be able to use the same CSF facilities as they won't exist - 2 of the remaining 4 pitch's will be exclusively wasps, and wasps will have exclusive access to the 3rd half of the time. When tbr swimming pool arrives the classroom, meeting room, physio room, etc that is currently next to the higgs indoor pitch will likely be replaced.

Wasps should bloody pay for the pitch to be relocated to the standard required, I won't be high fiving them for that, plus it will benefit them in the long run as it will be one of their 2 exclusive training pitches.

Sorry Stu

But we can't keep hiding behind others.

Why should Wasps do anything. If they are investing 7 million into redeveloping it they can do what they like.
If we would like them to do stuff then we should either

1) build our own like we kept saying we would
Or
2) tell them what we would like them to add to their structure and offer a long term rental commitment up to the initial 7 years to justify them doing It for us.

Agreed and on point 2, plenty of commentators on this subject think CSF and Wasps should be saying what the proposal should be, but surely the onus is on CCFC to do that?

I'd like to rent a car, and a provider offers me a car to rent and then I could say, ooh, I don't like that car much, I'm not going to bother. Would seem to be a convenient way out for me, yes?
Or, I need a car to these specifications please make one available. Rental provider puts up a car to my spec and I pay my money and drive as it's a perfect match for my requirements.

Of course they have to move the pitch, their development means the pristine pitch we pay for and have an agreement is going to be closed, and rightly they are paying for it to be relocated so they can crack on with building. That is all I am saying, nothing about long term, just that they shouldn't be back slapped for doing what they should or CSF should do.

There is no room for the academy, wasps, CSF, swimming pool etc to all be on site. If we do manage to keep the academy and use the kicking barn the rest of the academy is likely to have to be delivered from alternative site.
