This is disgraceful from the telegraph not gonna lie. When I saw it I thought, has something fallen through with Wilson? Has McCann pulled out? But no, we are making signings this week, it's just that they may not have time to be fully integrated into our new system.

It's a click bait title to get fans angry at the club and tbh, it's classic telegraph.

they have it all wrong with this transfer window. It really should close the day before the season starts

No, its because the Wilson deal has fallen through. Back to square one.

If TM is going to get Wilson onboard then he'll already be familiar with the 'system' - bit of mind games I think not really a lot more.

I imagine though this one will be open for comments - no doubt the lack of signings will be down to Joy wanting some extra bits and pieces in her penthouse... Maybe a new hot tub?

the first line of the article is
Sky Blues are hopeful of announcing new signings in the early part of the week

ffs

(Although it appears Wilson is off to Rotherham anyway which is annoying. Championship money and football. Can't blame him.)

......................RCC......................
.........Willis..Ricketts..Harries
Evans................................Haynes
..................Gad..Rose...............
Jones..................................Reid
.............................................
....................Sordell...................

If he wants to continue playing the formation he had been playing
I can only see this as the starting 11 as it stands
Any other ideas if this is the formation?

It’s been very frustrating,” said Mowbray. “It’s not proving easy to get things over the line and if we sign anybody in the next few days I think it’s unlikely they’ll play next weekend because we need to bed them down and get them playing the way we want them to.

Jesus

The headline matches the story for gods sake !!!!!!

He is frustrated negotiations are taking longer than he expected and he himself said it's unlikely they will feature in the first game

Is this really a false headline or story for the above ......

Coventry City boss Tony Mowbray 'very frustrated' with transfer delays ahead of Swindon Town opener

Fair enough, it's more the tweet the telegraph put out

Am I the only one who thought the prospect of securing the Wilson deal was a bit far fetched? Don't get me wrong I hope there's a possibility of him still coming in because he'd ooze quality at this level however I was speaking to a good friend who borders on the obsessive in relation to supporting Nottingham Forest and he claims that Wilson was on 20 grand+ a week and that doesn't include bonuses etc. Realistically why would he come to Coventry when we refuse to offer players in excess of 4 grand a week?

I'm totally calm but it's not really good enough is it. It's no coincidence that successive managers under SISU are only given funds to build so late on that we are still putting the team together going into September every season.

No it's not good enough. It's what we have been reduced to. Scrambling for a team into August and season will have started. Fight amongst yourselves on why that is.

Are we all expecting a rallying cry from Joy Seppala this week?

We talk about signings coming in and players linked, then we get sound bites from existing players looking forward to the new season with new players and hey-presto season tickets sales start to pick up...then the waiting starts and the departures start......Hope nobody puts an offer of any size in for RCC or the season starts with Oggy in goal......am I joking?

I love how people are offended so easily.

How unthinkable it must be to go and support your team?

It's not unthinkable at all but one of these days there will be a direct correlation between the dreams and ambitions of the fans and those of the owners !

Depends on the fans I guess, some act surprised that we can't compete with the Sheff United's while they don't bother going to games or buy fake replica shirts.

But there is an awful lot of assumption there is there not?

I know it looks bad and it is easy to blame the owners, but there is also the possibility that TM has been TRYING to recruit but deals are falling through due to players being nabbed by someone else, or the player unable to agree terms.

We are not in a position to know what has gone on behind the scenes.

If we were trying to get Wilson and it did look promising, but now it has fallen through due to someone offering more, we can hardly blame Sisu for that.

I know on the surface it looks really poor, but we have no idea how frustrating it has been for TM in trying to recruit and bring players in.
