Thank you to the people who said who he was I had no idea and still wouldn't know him if I was standing next to him.
He's just under 19 stone & 6' 4" of almost pure muscle...I think he might gain attention & respect were he next any of us even if putting g a name to the face might be difficult lol

I had a look at Haskells twitter, I shall not comment on the whys & wherefores of the incident, but I did find the replies to Haskells tweet didn't do them any favours, essentially the 'rugby fraternity' looking down on football fans with a superior attitude.

Rugger buggers are a bit odd on the whole.

If this is right Italia you tell him from me he's a c**t

I went to the start of the protest but then moved away when it came a bit yobby with random chants as Nigel took over as spokesman for the cameras.
Could have been worse as the man with the large belly volunteered to be spokesman but was quickly brushed aside.
Went past a few times as they went around the top by the car park entrance and it did appear to be out of place and unorganised.
Followed a coach I'm advised around the stadium.
Lots of other fans saying it was pointless. Lots of kids around in the Olympic village would be a little scared.
I guess if 2 random protesters gave me some abuse I might react the same. I guess he was there for the olympic event.

Nigel as spokesperson. That's just embarrassing! :D

I'm struggling to imagine any of our lot attacking him. Could he possibly be playing it up so he doesn't look bad?

Does anyone know what was actually said? If it was something about Wasps being a London club that's fair game really and I would expect a more reasoned reply.

I know football fans can get upset when they have a go at someone and then get it back but if this was one of our players giving it back it would be a big deal, don't see why it should be any different just because he plays for Wasps.

I saw the moments before this by the sounds of, Haskell was walking outside near the casino entrance about 2:00 he looked like he was on his way to the small car park infront of the casino (He actually looked like he had 1 leg as was in a massive knee brace where his leg with his bad foot was kneeling on the brace very bizarre) he was asked by some lads very politely for autographs to which he obliged I didn't see any more after this but he certainly didn't look like he was on a mission to draw attention to himself, I would imagine someone gave him some stick & he put them back in their place.

I like Rugby, Haskells a love him or hate him character and as he's a Wasps player im not his biggest fan but in the seconds before this incident happened when I saw him he didn't look like he was on a mission to wind up football fans he was just wanting to get away.

All rugby fans and players are the same, think they are better than footballers. It's acceptable to have a punch up on field but it's all ok because they call the referee sir.

Italia backing someone from Wasps!
Well you could knock me down with a feather.

I am a football fan and a rugby fan. I have played them both. Should I think that I am better than me ?
I think he means those that are just rugby fans, there was funny thread on drunkenwasps not long after wasps moved in, moaning about the football fans not knowing 'rugby etiquette' and trying to educate them. Also a lot said they didn't want football fans attending wasps games.

Some samples (these being amongst the worst, I'd stress many are OK either appreciation for Haskell turning up to meet kids or just saying be cool & ignore the abuse). To be fair worse things are said on this forum at times.

Thats actually worse than I was expecting. The arrogance of these people. Very narrowminded and based on stereotypes. They probably think all Muslims are terrorists...

Some strange comments on there from some obviously strange people, footballers will sit there and sign autographs but a bit difficult to do when most are playing today imagine if an English international was sitting there the room would have been packed just to see him and the one who says that's why his kids won't play football mine are the opposite and will never be allowed to play rugby far to dangerous.

Rugby...gentlemans sport? Fuck off.

Eye gouging, spear tackles, punches, stamping. I fucking hate it when there's this 'holier than thou' bullshit. Fans might be better behaved in the stands but the players can be a hell of a lot worse than footballers and get no where near as much flak over it.

Rugby is a terrible sport played only in ex British empire countries plus a few others. Let them be bitter about the best sport in the world.

Problem with rugby is that as players set fitter and stronger in the professional era there are more serious injuries. Now an ex player is suing Sale over them not protecting him after he had a head injury. The game may have to change in order to ensure it can still be played as a top entertainment.

See I think there are a few Rugby people who think they are superior, & some who like football pretty much equally. Most are between the two...& some of those play with the football fraternity...some of who take no notice at all, some who laugh it off & then there are the few footy Dan's with a huge chip on their shoulder who are incensed by it.
