I haven't down played it have I? Strange, it's almost like I'm the only one saying it was an anti climax when it was posted earlier...
So the overall rhetoric of your first response doesn't pour cold water on the article?

In the way they have been pushing things for months, if not years.

Maybe people really do believe in co incidences so much though.

Switch emotion off, take a step back. Look at what game the council / wasps are playing and see how this fits in perfectly.

I would tend to look at the games SISU have played- and the end result.

We are bottom of the league, hated by the people that matter and the guy steering the ship has just jumped ship.

To distract by slagging Simon and the CT won't alter the situation.

So, the piece is an accurate appraisal, but just an anti climax? The CT should have said more?

Can't see how this is an anti climax , it's almost as if supporters are just happy for everybody to keep quiet and see what happens .
The more people and media force the issue , the better chance we have of sisu coming out and actually saying something in regards to their plans and our future .
Good news would be mr b wants to buy the club and he has fantastic plans for the future. Who could argue? I certainly couldn't and would be fully behind him.

This is just repeating what the trust said yesterday.

Sadly, all this probably means is to expect bad news which is more worrying.

Is that the dawn of enlightenment causing a furrow on your brow this morning, Nick?

Nope, it's the return of the agendas on here that aren't ccfc. Surprisingly enough.

After nine miserable years of failure and mediocrity and the departure of another executive after less than a year in the job, is there anyone out there who has any faith in the ability of Sisu to bring success to a club that hasn’t had a top-six finish in any league since 1970?

The rot set in at the Sky Blues long before Sisu took over but the club has sunk to a new low since they plucked it from the jaws of administration in 2007.

Seven managers, one relegation, £60million invested and a season playing in Northampton later, the club’s revenues have more than halved, crowds have dwindled and the owners are at loggerheads with various parties with whom the club needs to collaborate.

We are sure the owners and club directors (of which there have been many) have had good intentions over the last nine years. None of them were actively trying to get to this distressing point in the club’s history so why should fans wait for another strategy when so many have failed

Saturday’s attendance was 8,813. The fans are voting with their feet.

Football is a results business and failure is not tolerated, just ask any of the managers City have sacked in the last decade.

Thank you for rescuing the club from administration. Thank you for the money you invested - but now is the time to go.
......................................................

I don't disagree with any of that.

I would have thought anyone agreeing with the piece would be CCFC. CCFC are bottom of their league 9 years into SISU's tenure. Another director has just jumped ship. That would be abject failure for any other company and they would be rightly pilloried for it. Why then do you try and distract in the case of this firm ( SISU )?

It would be far too much to hope that a signing was being announced.
We can assume that Trinity Mirror has zero advertising income from CCFC, the club might deny access to Mowbray's daily half baked press statements which going by the last 3 months is a good thing.

The CT are hedging their bets on the club folding soon, like the local politicians demanding that House of Commons EDM the media are just positioning themselves.

Came in to be annoyed that it wasn't really big news. But the Telegraph are correct.

Plus Gilbert didn't suggest that it was big news, only that it would cause a stir. And it will.

Sidenote: Even if I thought they were wrong I still wouldn't be annoyed for the same reason as above.

Finally? I think them giving people protest flyers and pushing protests as hard as possible said that.

Not sure when the last time they were on the fence and not whipping fans up?

It just confirms what people have been saying for months about their agenda, it feels like I have gone back in time to when haskell was sniffing about.
Give it a rest Nick, there's no agenda, you're a million miles away from the real supporters and their viewpoint of the catastrophe the club is in. What's your agenda, because you're certainly in the minority? And it's nothing to do with the fuckin book release?

So...the mismanagement of the Football club over the last 9 years is not CCFC? wow.

My agenda is ccfc, that's why I subjected a child to sit and watch on Saturday.I can't think of any other reason.

I didn't say the announcement was about a book, I said the book will be promoted off the back of it.

And I said I wasn't the first person was I??

When was your last post before this morning? Your last post, yours...
Oh God!

I never said 'the' first post. I said 'your' first post.

Simple enough to comprehend even for you.

It is a ridiculous anti-climax. Every CCFC fan knows already what is written in that piece.

Who do they want SISU to sell to? "Anyone is better than SISU". Like "anyone was better than Robinson".

And your first post in weeks was to just have a dig at me.

What's your point

Read Rondogs Posts from today - his point is quite clear. I, and others, think that the piece was accurate and warranted in the present circumstances.

What is your agenda? Why the distractions? You could have said fair enough and people would have moved on. Several seem more interested in your reaction.

A lot of the points he raised could apply equally to Trinity-Mirror's ownership of the Coventry Telegraph!

For those of us working on Trinity Mirror’s Midland titles, this is like watching a horror film before bedtime.

The Birmingham Mail has a y-on-y drop of -20.5%, and the Coventry Telegraph is -15%.

They are among the worst performing titles in the whole country. It’s just awful.

The CT's circulation in 2011 was 34359, 2012 was 29266 , 2015 was 21626, - first 6 months of this year 18098

GMK used to be a great forum, but entered a downhill spiral to result in a handful of anti-council, anti-CET zealots who'd round on anyone with a contrary view. This forum's default position is now exactly the same.

I'm sure the CET's piece is in response to yet another board member leaving the club in a worse position than he found it. Yet the usual suspects decide its motivated more by a book launch or a desperate bid to increase circulation.

Yes, the CET - like any paper - is looking for readers. Yes, there's a book coming out. But his stance is - I'm sure - in response to the merry-go-round in our board continuing at a point when we're bottom on the league with zero tangible assets. Enough, really, is enough.

(I do understand I haven't posted on here a few weeks, and that makes my view inferior to that of some...)

Distract from what? The same thing people have been saying for years?

I love how it's my agenda people are so worried about and not why they are saying this now? The people shown to have an actual agenda with the council, saying this as the council and wasps are playing their game out.

Nothing in there apart from bottom of league one couldnt have been from the last year.

I was sat bored out of my head taking a lesson in how not to make substitutions with a child I want to sadly be a ccfc fan on Saturday. I paid money for that. Sadly, ccfc being in my family for years is my agenda.

Yes I am happy with this article and it gets straight to the point and no one can disagree with it. It's nothing new I agree but it needed to be said and some pressure and this is now real pressure needs to be applied.

If you ask me I agree with chipfat. Things are happening behind the scenes. Good or bad I don't know. Anderson jumps ship and club are bottom of the league. Academy is finished in a few months time and Ricoh expires in 18 months. The squeeze has well and truely been put on. Wasps won't talk to us. Ccc hate us. It's all a deliberate attempt to rid of sisu.

They are universally hated and it's right. Enough is enough now.

Overall great article and I watched the video on the article of perry explaining why the article and it's 5 mins long and well worth a watch. Things are finally happening.

It was an opinion piece articulating what many people think. SISU have blown it. There is not even a shimmer of light on the horizon.

Whether "anyone is better than SISU" remains to be seen. To be worse than bottom of the league with possibly no home or grade 2 academy and no money to invest, would be difficult. And without an Ops Director steering the ship on a daily basis..... The immediate future doesn't look very positive..

No one gives 2 shits about the book, the importance here is our club that we all support. Every time you mention the book as an argument against an opinion against the owners your make yourself look a fool, give it a fuckin rest will you.

Ok, then just agree with the piece and add that it is not new. The timing fits in with being bottom of the league and losing the helmsman - regardless of any conspiracies.

Look a fool? I'm not the one getting my hopes up sisu are going or we have a new buyer every time there's an anti climax.

Surely as we all support the same club instead of dancing about like this is some sort of earth shattering revelation we should have learnt it's usually followed by bad news.

I hope I'm wrong this time and it's followed by a fantastic new owner!

Exactly, but the opinion piece isn't really needed as it is exactly what 99% of people think. Was it to target the 1% who don't agree?

My point was, who is going to buy the club? You'd clearly have to be mental to go anywhere near it. The only solution I would see is if Wasps bought out SISU. Which is exactly what I think the tactic is. Like SISU tried to distress ACL. Wasps (and the CCC) are doing exactly the same thing. Not saying thats a bad thing but how far do you take it?

CET are entitled to voice their opinion - don't really think anyone is questioning that.

It's more disappointing though that they didn't feel the need to voice their opinion on the Wasps purchase of Ricoh or the impending displacement of our academy.

Both of these decisions will have detrimental consequences long after SISU have disappeared.
