I think I would have left it til after tomorrow. A win or even draw and you could agree he deserves a little more time. There's nothing wrong in saying we are looking for a manager but until venus' results start to dwindle he's in temporary charge

Ask for more communication from the Club, they do it, then it gets moaned about!.

We all know the truth , no money for a new man and they have nt a clue what they are doing , I will never give Sisu the benefit of the doubt , To many lies and false promises , You who wish to be blindfolded carry on

It was pretty obvious the club wasn't interested in filling the position early on. Seems they aren't even actively searching or interviewing candidates.
Why look elsewhere when Venus is a shoe in!! He knows the players, and should have a pretty good idea where we've been going wrong. With his insight I'm expecting a positive return with a third straight win this Sat!!.

We've won 2 games under him FFS. This is the perfect scenario - if he/the club decide it isn't working out in a few games we get somebody in. If it does work he carries on and everyone will want to bow at his feet. Nobody is ever happy.

Good decision. If he does well we can give him the job, if he doesn't we aren't tied in to a contract. With no chance of changing the squad until January there would be a limit to what any new manager could do anyway.
It's not a decision at all, as far as I can see. It's a statement of what's going on right now.

Scenarios by the end of this timeline:
1) We're top of the league smashing it.
Fan reaction: Fans will be heaping praise on Mowbray and saying we should have done everything to hold onto him and it shows SISUs lack of ambition by forcing him out. Venus is overachieving with his hands tied and we're lucky that he is because SISU obviously havent been arsed enough to find a replacement
2) We're exactly where we are now
Fan reaction: Mowbray wasn't able to build the team he wanted because of lack of funds. SISU showing lack of ambition by not getting a new manager and it's no surprise that Venus has us bottom of the league when he hasn't got any backing.
3) We're mid table
Fan reaction: Venus alone saved us from a relegation fight despite the fact he has zero funds (SISU are embezzling everything remember despite the publicly available accounts), and isnt a manager, and they need to "invest" (LOL), can't believe they didnt find a manager

After the successful experiment of having Orange Ken in the dugout, I suppose having a board member as manager until further notice is the logical conclusion. Nothing weird about that.

That is exactly what it needs and a denial is all it would take to stop the speculation, simple solution really.
This is not - as some would seem to suggest - a Kangaroo court, these are just suspicions and with the recent history of the club, fans have every right to be suspicious.
So to move things on, let Mark Venus deny that his company has any link to the re-development of the Ryton site. That will either end the speculation or if not, fuel the fire.
Having listened to Mark Venus on the phone-in I would like to say fair play to him for putting himself into the firing line. He has categorically denied that neither he or his wife will profit from the sale of Ryton and that any personal involvement in the deal would question his integrity. It was a brave decision to publicly answer phone-in questions on the show.

Although perhaps an obvious choice got to give the bloke a decent chance he knows all he needs to about the state of the club, players and the politics. Will be interesting to see if he drafts anybody in though. Will have Stokes and Rose back soon which will be like a couple of signings. Winning today ain't a shoe in by the way get the feeling some think it is.

Not at all convinced Venus is the man for the job. Won't be still even if we win 4 or 5 on the bounce.

Will of course back him though while he is at the helm.

This might well just prove to be a very short term fix.

What 'if' Venus simply fibbed a bit on the phone-in? Fair enough, if he doesn't actually profit from Ryton's sale ultimately, but would he really say 'yes' in such an interview and become the focus of much venom?

Conjecture, of course, but still.

Because he put himself up there, voluntarily, in the firing line without knowing what questions he would be facing. He answered all questions in a controlled manner with a strong feeling of assurance.
I have posted my concerns within this thread and called upon him to be answerable to them. For me he has achieved that.

45 mins until everyone starts saying DON'T give it to Venus?
Are league position means we are in no position to be taking risks on unproven managers like Venus, he might be a great manager but our position means we can not take the risk.

we need to go out and get a proven manager with a track record to get us out of this shit as quickly as possible. Don't delay it to January, we need to act now.

Well, yep, agree.

A couple of wins and I think some saw false hope.

Going to take someone with a good pedigree to now turn this around.

Agree with that, a fair few got carried away, tbh I didn't really count the JPT win and thought the league win might be a bit of a one off rather than sparking a nice run in the league , so was only going to judge him on league performances.

We are bottom of the league for a reason, we're not good enough or consistent enough in both boxes.

At the moment I think this season has relegation struggle written all over it.

Needs fresh input and a fresh approach.

New manager please, don't wait til January.

doesn't really matter what we think, he is here until Jan, so will have more games than TM in charge this season
