My point is, it shouldn't be about whipping up a storm should it?

Dig in at Wasps and CCFC to get a deal there sorted. It isn't clear the legal action is the reason as they started talks knowing full well about it. So they both need pressure to sort a deal.
Why shouldn't it be about whipping up a storm though? Our club is at it's lowest point ever and every week a few more people stop giving a shit and stop going. I agree pressure needs putting on all parties to sort a deal but it can't be argued that CCFC are the ones that need it the most. Who's court do you think the ball is in for the following items? I'll give you my view.

The rent deal at the Ricoh - SISU (they've been told what the roadblock is, whether you accept it as true or not)
The academy deal and location - SISU (Said they want to leave, had the rug pulled from under them and now need to save the Cat. status of the academy and sharpish)
The development of BPA - SISU (no planning permission requested)
The potential sale of Ryton for a larger site - SISU (they've kicked this off and laughably want us to take a leap of faith that they really want to do what they say)
The building of a new stadium - SISU (no contact made with anyone as per today's article)

How can you put any real pressure on anyone else when it's SISU who need to make the first move on all the above?

Why are their 3 pages already of a non story being discussed on here?
We have all known for months and months nothing has EVER been discussed with ANYONE about an imaginary stadium spoken about by only Fisher to try and satisfy the FL and SOME of the fans.

instead of none stories pointing out the bleeding obvious why are the CET not asking the FL and FA what there is in place if we fail to fulfill our requirements outlined to SISU in the previous mess that is going to reoccur at the end of next season and whilst were at it ask the FA how they managed to pass their fit and proper persons test.

CET whipping up the fanbase again with drivel repeated on numerous occasions, do it every time their is some sort of protest etc.

they have carried out up to date FOI's to look for evidence of a stadium that should be nearly finished now

I fail to see what they have done wrong here.
That's because you are looking at it purely as a Coventry fan, where as some Coventry
fans Look at it with an irrational loathing for a local paper 1st, and a weird unfathamable
Sense of loyalty to our owners 2nd

Pressure can be applied on Wasps, because they are the landlord of the Ricoh surely?

Even the council have moved the goalposts from dropping legals, to dropping legals and pay money.

Again, any side in it needs pressure to sort it. Then other parties don't get away with the "Its SISU" getout.

Not really, because there is nothing outrageous about them is there?

He said they had identified land, not submitted planning for one. I could identify land walking down the street.

It is either all about the Ricoh, or the Butts (let's face it, it has got further than any potential stadium by having those images drawn up and Sharpe confirming things). Dig into them to get at the actual points surely?

Nothing against FOI's, but as I have said for how long now, maybe start do to them to actually find things out.

Nothing has changed since last week in reality has it? We knew it was bollocks then.

Open your eyes son! SISU paid a £1m guarantee that they would move CCFC out of Coventry, build a new Stadium, and be back in Coventry within 3 years... Where the f**k is the Stadium??? Where the f**k is the £1m? Did they have to pay the £1m to the FL? Did they actually pay the £1m to the FL? Try asking SISU/FL these questions ffs!

We are already back in Coventry.

That's what I mean by things change, there is no point shouting about the stuff based guarantees for Northampton now surely?

nonsense!
The CET haven't done anything wrong, but they haven't told us anything we don't already know.
It's lazy journalism and my criticism has nothing to do with a sense of loyalty to our owners.

In fact it tells me that those up in arms were actually clinging onto some hope that sisu were going to build a new stadium and this article had shattered that hope, I never believed them in the first place.

19 different authorities or bodies have been approached through the FOI. All have dutifully confirmed that no recent contact has been made.

This is not only investigative journalism, but thorough investigative journalism.

Many on this site have crying out for years that the CET lacked such a skill.

But when the apply it, they still get criticism.

The majority of Coventry City fans applaud them for it.

Who is basing it on Northampton ffs! They could have moved us to the North Pole, but the question stays the same....

Perhaps tomorrow the CET could confirm that there is no Santa, just to be sure.

You are, you are going on about the guarantees given for us to move to Northampton.

It isn't relevant now is it?

It hasn't really, it's been confirmed no planning or approach had been put in. Fisher didn't say there had been.

It would be pretty hard to identify a site if they haven't. Otherwise all you've done is identify a field. The only way you could classify it as a site is if you've been talking to the relevant local authorities to gauge the possibility of it becoming a site. The FOI's confirm that hasn't happened so actually it confirms that they haven't identified a site at all. It might confirm that they've been on google maps, it might confirm that TF has passed a field with some cows in it close to the Coventry border on his way to the Ricoh or Ryton. Who knows. But a site isn't a site until there is a prospect of it being developed, that doesn't happen until you speak to the relevant people. Have they been speaking to the relevant people?

Once again... Open your eyes son!!! Of course it's relevant! That money could have been used in buying player/s... paid wages for a fair few players. They always find money for Litigation, but "We're skint" when it comes to the team.

I just don't get why the council can't call sisu's bluff with regards the butts. If they say to them go ahead and build a 15k stadium on there then sisu can a) build a stadium - great. B) sell the club with planning permission attached - great c) not move the club out of the city as the fl will have proof there are other alternatives - great.

Isn't there a quote somewhere from the council leader saying that they have no power to simply block a proposed building plan but have to look at each one on its merits. I think it would be a good idea for the council and everyone else to be fully supportive of the Butts idea (as someone else on here said) as it would really show how genuine their intentions would be to build a stadium. Not very genuine I would have thought.
I would have thought that the FL and the FA should be made aware of the Telegraph findings as it again calls into doubt that their intention in moving to Northampton was ever to do anything but distress ACL and should therefore provide more evidence of their lack of fitness to run a football club. The fact is that The article is conclusive proof that TF has lied. It's a shame that the Telegraph are unlikely to be given the chance to ask him about it.

So why do you appear angrier with the CT than with the chairman of our club doing absolutely nothing to fix our rapidly approaching critical situations?

Because I don't think we will end up homeless and a deal will be done.

I keep saying pressure should be on both CCFC and Wasps to get an agreement done now, rather than posturing.

I said digging should be done at the Butts, as that is the latest "thing" that gets mentioned.

I'd love a new CCFC stadium, but I also know unless we get a rich arab owner it isn't happening whether we like it or not.

I also think they could start trying to track down some of sisus elusive investors and try and get their opinion on their mishandling of the club, thing that could real stir things up.

FOI's are a useful tool that can be used to prevent companies being able to hide
Behind lies and fabrication, and the CET are absolutely right to use them.

That's my point, for all we know him saying they have identified a site is him driving past or looking on Google Maps.

It's not a site then is it? A site is a plot of land suitable for development. How do you find out if it's suitable? it goes further than going "oh yeah, that looks to be about the X amount of acre's we need, let's tell everyone we've identified a site". It's BS unless there's a chance of it being developed. You only know that by talking to the relevant interested parties. The FOI's confirm that hasn't happened. They say that TF has no more identified a site someone on here going onto google maps and superimposing an image of an existing 25K or whatever stadium on it. Yet you are making this about the CT not TF and what's happening at the club, or not happening as the case seems to be.

Surely this article dismisses some of the posturing? Shouldn't you be welcoming it in that case? Who should the digging at the BPA be aimed at?

We know digging is selective though.

And I refer you back to the question I asked you earlier. Who is the onus currently on to progress the following?

The rent deal at the Ricoh?
The academy deal and location?
The development of BPA?
The potential sale of Ryton for a larger site?
The building of a new stadium?

And if you agree that the answer to all is SISU, how much pressure do you expect Wasps to feel? If you disagree, I'd love to hear how you think the onus is somewhere else.

The digging should be aimed at everybody surely? Just dig at the situation and see what it fines?

So the article dismisses the posturing from CCFC, who could that benefit?

Maybe could dig at the other site to dismiss that posturing to get a deal sorted?

The rent deal at the Ricoh? - CCFC & Wasps
The academy deal and location? - CCFC / CSF & Wasps
The development of BPA? CCFC / Cov Rugby
The potential sale of Ryton for a larger site? CCFC and secondary : Sport England / Rugby Council
The building of a new stadium? CCFC

They are the people who should be pressured at least into getting things sorted for each thing. Cov Rugby can easily rule out BPA but have gone silent as the lease is sold, but no questions or digging?

Wasps won't ever feel pressure, it will just be a "No comment" or "SISUs fault". Simple as that.

I agree with absolutely all of that but the onus and need to sort it is on SISU. The more we rely on the CT to provide us the answers, the more fucked we will actually be.

Well they've asked CCC, no approach been made. CRFC have gone quite. The club aren't talking to the CT. Where should the digging be made exactly? Who are they going to ask and what are they going to ask them? And where the club are concerned who's going to ask them?
