The previous 8 games under TM we won 1 in 8.
Under MV the last 8 games we have won 5 in 8

So what is it that made this happen?

Strange to see you think joy should be credited.

I'd say it's down to better man management, trying to play to player strengths and a bit of consistency in the team.

Other than Charlton, our back five have been terrific since Venus came in.
there have actually been a lot of errors at the back in that time, but they have been throwing themselves on the line to block may opportunities, rectifying the errors, and denying clear opportunities
And to be fair for the level we are at, that is as expected (ie that there will be errors)

Better man management
Playing a system that fits thr players
Moving the ball forward quicker
Less squad rotation
A little bit of luck
New manager bounce / honeymoon period

I have no doubt that if mowbray was still here, we'd have not won 5 of of last 8 and we'd still be sat firmly in the bottom 4.

Yes, I think the biggest single factor is luck, not just good luck under Venus but also bad luck inder TM

Interesting already that no one is saying its the players themselves that have improved?
Bigi was awful but now consistently good, Rose back in the side doing what he does best, Willis back and performing and Stephenson given his head.
I don't believe it's just tactics or change of manager. I think the players have started to gel together much more. Having said that would that have happened under TM and is it also because the system has changed under MV and the same side played week in week out (mostly)?

Wanting to impress the new manager - usually a short lived phenomenon.
However, I do think TM was old-fashioned, inflexible and stuck with failing tactics way too long.
Let's see how the next eight games go.

In terms of performance level I wouldn't say there has been any great improvement.

Possibly Venus is preparing them better mentally for the matches and also getting the rub of the green at the moment.

Perhaps the saving on Mowbray's weekly wage has been divided into extra cash for win bonuses?, or more likely gone into Joy's pocket

from my viewpoint from afar it seems like the monkey has been well and truly lifted off the players back.
I went to the Oldham game and we were dreadful in all areas except the keeper who was excellent on the day.
I am told performances are not much better but we are getting the results that we couldn't buy earlier under TM.
